DDA Chapter 3

Our blog is updated, but more importantly......... I'm FINALLY done with my cruise scrapbook from 2006! :rotfl:

Here's a link if you want to see it. It isn't very long :). That link will be a slideshow, but you can pause it to scroll through if you prefer. It isn't much, but it's at least finally complete! ;)
WOW! LOVE your scrapbook! How did you do it? Do you print it out too?

Since I don’t have time to do a TR, I thought I would post some of my favorite pictures from the CA/DL trip. Enjoy!
Love all your photos-especially the nighttime ones, Tink and Patrick with Mickey!

And, what I REALLY wanted to be able to see:

“It’s a Small World” with the Christmas overlay:

Thank you!

I have printed out our vacation photos into mypublisher.com photobooks for years now (since we did our wedding pictures there as well), so I get them printed through that site still. I just researched how big the layout would need to be to fill their page size (it's an odd size), then did the layouts in photoshop. This will be the first time I've done that, so I'm anxious to see how it turns out versus their layouts (just photos arranged on the page).

Elin, thank you for sharing those. It looks like the NAMM show is such a big to-do... what fun! Excellent photos :goodvibes

Great pictures Elin!

Elin--great pictures!

Elin - Your pictures make me miss Dl so much!!! How were the crowds while you were there?

Ooh Elin, I love the nighttime DL (and DTD) photos! :goodvibes

terrific pictures Elin!!

Thanks, everyone! Glynis -- the crowds were very light except at night when The NAMM Show let out. Then, the 100,000 people who didn't care to hit all the concert venues would head over to DL and DCA and DD and it would get crowded. We basically walked onto every ride, even Buzz Lightyear!

I tried Space Mountain on this trip and LOVED it. It is so smooth, much better than the one at WDW. I HATE that ride there.

I was going to ride California Screamin' because Patrick promised (a) "it is as smooth as Space Mountain, Mrs. H!" and (b) he would hold my hand the whole way! :rotfl: But when we got there the last night it was down for technical problems. Guess I will have to go back now!

Oh goodness, you're making me blush. I hope she doesn't mind me calling her out, but you should really see Clare's. They make mine look like they were done by a 4-year-old! :rotfl: She also does them a lot more quickly than I do! My layouts take anywhere from 1-3 HOURS :faint: because I'm so slow at searching for or making the embellishments I want, fighting with how I think it looks, adding shadows and extras to the pictures, etc. She whips out several in a day and they are some of the most beautiful things I've ever seen!

so where is a link so we can see her work???

my grandma passed last night at about 7:30

Karen -- sending lots of PD and hugs to you and your family.

People have been saying that the crowds don't drop off in January as early as they used to. I can tell you DS won't go back to school until at least January 6 next year, so I would imagine other schools would be out, too.

I am getting a 10" vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting and strawberries & custard filling. I'll have it delivered to dinner at Citrico's on my actual birthday. I never saw any cakes from Cali Grill that impressed me, so I figured I'll stick to the GF bakery.

We had that cake (except buttercream icing) from the GF bakery for Andrew and Jake a few weeks ago. It was really good!

I hope DS's party was fun and that they enjoyed the movie.

thanks for all the condolences. my dad called last night and said they went out for fish last night in memory of my grandmother. she LOVED fish. my dad is doing well too. when mom called last night after she passed my dad in the back ground said her uterus is fixed now. she had a prolapsed uterus that was causing all the problems and noone would do surgery on her at her age.

tom thanks for her name. i saw some of her adult designs and i wanna talk to her about them.

lindsay, elizabeth, and marci- i am trying to plan a trip up to dallas/plano area to visit my cousin(s) some time this spring/summer. my cousin is starting a new job within the next few weeks then she'll let me know a good time to come. lets plan something when i know i am coming

lindsay do you know anyone that works at ernst and young? my cousin works for them in dallas

Sounds like a lot of fun!

Great pictures, Elin! Thanks so much for sharing them! I'm supposed to go to a conference in April in Anaheim, and am really looking forward to DL.

We had terrible fog this morning, which didn't lift around here until almost 2 p.m. We finally got to see a little bit of sun this afternoon! Jake's basketball team won their game; Andrew's lost theirs. Both teams came in second place. :thumbsup2

Glad the boys' teams did fairly well today, Marci!

Where are you staying in Anaheim? Some of those hotels are closer to the aciton than Disney's own!

Elizabeth, I got the pins today. Thanks again.

so where is a link so we can see her work???

She has one in her DIS signature, so I'm thinking she doesn't mind me directing you to it! Of course, then I'll be embarrassed :rolleyes1 :rotfl: No, seriously. I'm proud enough of mine because I worked really hard on them.... Clare's, I am just thrilled to look at and aspire to get there some day! :thumbsup2

http://www.clareswindlehurst.com/storytelling/

She has this GORGEOUS one of Cinderella's castle that isn't on that site... maybe she'll pop on (or I'll contact her) and have her post it. It's my favorite!

ETA: The way that links, you have to select "next page" at the bottom to view the rest.

Not sure yet. I may stay at the Grand Californian if I can get a good enough rate -- I have a pretty good budget since this is business.

I've stayed at that Marriott when we went to a scrapbooking convention when Mom first opened her shop. It was so convenient to the convention center. They had great chocolate martini's...
