DDA Chapter 3

I don't have a DDE card yet. I am not planning on many TS meals for May or August so I'm not sure if I want to buy one. Decisions, decisions!

Each DDE card at the table is good for up to 10 people, so even with just 2 cards we're covered. :thumbsup2
Someone pointed out earlier that the break-even on DDE is $350, so if you think you will soend more than that on TS over the course of the next year then it is worth it.

I'm on the phone now chatting with Bob and we are discussing the possibility of him coming in Aug. We are even talking about driving! ACK!

Or I could have B&C for lunch and Biergarten for, um, beer! :lmao:
:lmao:

Reading the DIS! :rotfl:

And thinking about dinner, and working on the plan for our September trip, and debating about opening a bottle of wine to celebrate...
Kathrin got BOTH jobs! :dance3:  :cool1: :yay: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay:  :cool1: :woohoo:

However (and it is a BIG however, to me!)... they are $10,000 apart in salary offers! Of course, the one she wants more is the one offering less money. She countered and they will get back to her on Monday. But, it is definite that she will be headed to Boston now. :yay: :sad1: :woohoo: :sad2:

Congrats to Kathrin!!!!! Great news!!!!!!!!

Tammi -

"Magical Fireworks Voyage" -- After bidding farewell to Captain Hook and Mr. Smee on shore, your group will sail with Patch the pirate along Seven Seas Lagoon by Magic Kingdom. This memorable evening includes ideal "seaward" viewing of the "Electrical Water Pageant" and the spectacular new "Wishes" fireworks extravaganza over Cinderella Castle. The voyage features group trivia and song activities and a celebration for special occasions like birthdays, reunions or anniversaries. The irrepressible Patch regales you with tales of Peter Pan on the trip back to shore. Speaking of Peter Pan, he awaits your return to pose for photos and sign autographs. Ages 10 and older, $39.99; ages 3-9, $18.99.

"Safari Celebration Dinner" -- You'll gather in the exotic African coastal city of Harambe at Disney's Animal Kingdom for high adventure on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Your group will journey through the park's authentic jungles and across the sweeping, baobab-studded savannah as you spot giraffes, elephants and other wild African creatures. The experience continues at Harambe's Tusker House Restaurant for an African-inspired dinner, Disney character appearances, "up-close" animal experiences and live entertainment. Ages 10 and older, $59.99; ages 3-9, $19.99.

"International Dinner and IllumiNations Dessert Reception" -- There's no need to jet around the globe to experience dining around the world. At Epcot, international culinary favorites are on the menu for adventurous groups looking for a storybook ending to their day. Children can join in the dinner's special storytelling experience, which is punctuated with a surprise character appearance. A special viewing area is reserved for the evening finale, the nighttime Epcot spectacular "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth." Ages 10 and older, $59.99; ages 3-9, $19.99.

"Good Morning Gatherings" -- Breakfast with famous Disney characters enters a whole new dimension with this new group gathering served up with plenty of morning merriment at Tony's Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Your group will not only meet favorite characters but will participate in song-and-dance numbers. Mickey Mouse makes a one-on-one appearance with each guest for photo sessions. Ages 10 and older, $39.99; ages 3-9, $19.99. (Price includes 6.5% tax and 18% gratuity.) Guests will be invited to experience Mickey's PhilharMagic, with reserved seating at the very next show after their breakfast.

Grand Gatherings groups must include eight paying guests -- ages 3 and above -- staying at a Walt Disney World hotel. And, of course, there is no additional charge for children under 3 years of age.

No driving! :scared: 2 days in the car on each end of the trip would send me over the edge! If we lived within 12 hours or so I would consider it, but from here it is just too far.

Wonderful news! :dance3:

I like the Wishes cruise or the Illuminations Dinner.

Thanks to Anne Marie I will be strategically placing them ice cubes in August :lmao: I would have never thought of that, but it sure does work :thumbsup2

Not with the strategic placing of ice cubes! :rotfl2:

Should we suggest this to the men?:lmao:

Bernadette - An $80 stroller is not a $500 camera. And your DH didn't have a coronary when you announced that you wanted to buy it. Remember, DH and I argued about that stupid camera for MONTHS and he would not let it go. If your DH felt as strongly about NOT buying the stroller as I did about NOT buying the camera then maybe you would do well to reconsider. As it is, an $80 stroller that will have some resale value is not a big deal. :)
So DH wasn't happy when I mentioned it but saw it as an opportunity to make me get rid of some of the ones we have. I was reluctant to bring the Graco Duo Glider to the dump but he says he will look into seeing if a woman's shelter will take it. I can't take it to the consignment because one of the strap clips is broken but it still has lots of good life left in it. I should take the Peg Perego Pliko to the consignment shop as that is in good shape and even though it has a running board we didn't take it to WDW last year as Lizzy & Joe are too heavy to ride on it when Emma is sitting in it and they would fight over it. I did really like that stroller! I don't think the consignment shop would take the "old" Daytripper Maclaren as it is 5 1/2 years old and has evidence of Mickey bars on it.

He was thinking when I mentioned Maclaren that it would be like $200 so he was relieved at the $80 price. The Volo looks like the seat is a bit bigger than the Daytripper and the seat is mesh so it would be cooler for those 2 trips.

I still haven't done it but I'm leaning toward it.

It's 822 miles from here. So we could do like Robyn did....drive for 8-10 hours, sleep and be fresh for our first day at the park.

Robyn - do you have any idea about how much you paid for gas? What hotel did you stay at and in what city? Was the cost reasonable? I'm preparing my Color Coded Matrix of Costs. :lmao:

When we drove last (2003) it took us 17 hours to get there & 20 to come home...

I am glad I can be helpful!:lmao: Nothing wrong with some personal coolent. Now Dana would not drop some ice cubes down his pants no matter how hot it got!:rotfl2:
