DDA Chapter 25

Good Morning. We finally have sunshine and the temps are supposed to get to the high 70s. We need to get the lawns mowed today and I need to get a new dump permit and some dump coupons. I also need to work on my tan before vacation so I guess mowing the lawn will have to be enough for today.

Good morning! (Or afternoon, I guess.) Family arrived at 3:30 this morning so we're still working on finishing up breakfast. After that, not sure what else is on tap. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be hectic with 15-20 people running around all day. I need a nap just thinking about it. ;)

Happy Friday everyone!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

No teaching until July 12th! :yay: Lots of work to do but the school is closed for the next week. Because Monday is a holiday and people won't sign their kids up for classes beginning that day we just decided to take the week off.

Enjoy the break from teaching. I love the wine glass in your sig! We started collecting mostly handpainted glasses a couple of years ago. If you only have one of something, you know whose it is!

Oh, and btw............

9 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::banana::dance3::woohoo::cheer2::yay:

VERY exciting! Enjoy your trip!

Marci it's great to see you. Nice new signature picture. How's everything in Texas?

Hi, Marci! I wish that wine glass were mine. Alas, since I haven't seen it anywhere else, I got the photo from snooth.com.

Thanks. That was from our recent cruise. Randy and his two college buddies have all turned 50 in the last 8 months, so this was to celebrate that and the wives got to tag along. It was a lot of fun, and only the second longest trip away from my boys. We had a terrific time.

Same old boring stuff in Texas. Very busy with summer school, work, sports, camps, work trips (got to finally meet Denise's kids in San Diego, of all places) and more work. Still recovering from sinus surgery and busy planning our family trip to Atlantis between football camps in August. I'm so jealous of your mega-trip. I hope you guys have great weather, all stay healthy have have lots of fun. :goodvibes

I'm home from work. I did have to play a little game of dodge the moose on the way home :upsidedow I'm off until Tuesday now. Lots to do around the house.

SW dropped airfare to Orlando today so my parents have decided to fly down instead of driving. That means we now have more room in the car so I can bring a few more things than I had thought I'd be able to. Packing just became easier :goodvibes

Deb, Watched the video on the Epic. I appreciated that Cruise Critic was very honest with her observations. I also was not impressed with the sink outside the bathroom. Loved the studio staterooms!!!

Good to see you Marci, love the new pic.

Yesterday's doctor visit didn't go the way I would have liked, I asked if it was ever going to stop hurting and he said not until we get it to loosen up, so it looks like we're still in for the long haul.

After having a good morning yesterday, I had a bad afternoon which made last night's wake pretty rough. He was obviously a well loved man, the place was packed and I just couldn't handle it. Richie asked how I was going to handle Disney if crowds bothered me that much, :confused3

Debbie, I am so sorry you are still having pain. That is a bummer.

I think this was a different situation with there being so many people there. There was just so much grief and I can just imagine it was not good with your emotions so very raw. I think being at Disney will be a different situation. I hope it gets better for you.:hug:

Debbie, I know your surgery was different from DH but when he had his rotator cuff surgery, he was in a sling for over seven weeks. He had physical therapy for a few months after that. It took a long time to get back to what one calls normal.

Marci - I, too, love your new picture!

Debbie - I agree with Terry. Hopefully being in a happy place with big crowds will be easier for you. What do you have to do to get your shoulder to 'loosen up'? Therapy?

Thanks, I have to keep up with my exercises, I can do them at home, and use my arm whether it hurts or not. I've caught myself quite often using the right arm instead of the left, it's become a habit now. I'm left handed so that really isn't the norm.

What's causing the pain now is the capsilitis, (frozen shoulder), during the surgery he cleaned out the debri from the arthritis, removed a spur, did a decompression on the AC joint, and finally a manipulation for the capsilitis. I do have more range of motion than before but it is definitely not back to normal. He explained that with manipulations the normal healing process will take away part of what was gained so it is a constant battle.

I asked him about the magical 6 week mark for surgery, he said that wasn't the case with this problem.

I'll be ok, but I just have little pity parties once in a while, I'm sure just being in our "Happy Place" will make a big difference.

No one is impressed with the sink, nor are the impressed with the frosted glass on the showers and toilet stalls. We are bringing some suction cup hooks to combat the transparency. We can hang beach towels etc to obscure the view. I'm sure the boys don't want to see my silouette while I'm showering or using the Loo and I certainly don't want to see theirs :lmao: Same goes with my parent's cabin as one of the boys will be staying with them. Otherwise the reviews have been pretty good. We can't wait :goodvibes

Debbie, I'm sorry this is progressing so slowly  I am glad to hear that the pain should lessen over time. Do you still have pain meds? That might help on the trip.

I think that it is time for us to do some BBQ planning. We should all exchange cell numbers. I know that Bernadette has ordered a cake. I think that you mentioned drinks. I plan to make a BJs run. Is that something that we want to do together on the 22nd or can I just make a run for everything to make it easier? We need to put together some sort of menu so that we know what we need. We also need to shoot for no leftovers as we leave for Miami the next morning.

Debbie - Have your pity parites! You need them, woman!! I wish that magical 6-week spot was going to be there for you, but I know you will make the bets of what you've got and push on. I cannot imagine you letting it get in the way of your
WDW celebration.

Deb - I got out my last couple of unread Celebrations! magazines last night and saw the MNSSHP photo and story you had submitted. I saw the photo and thought, "Boy does that family look familiar." Talk about being behind on things.... :rotfl:

:woohoo:Enjoy your week!

Tonight is Nicholas and Alyssa's theatrical debut! They have been working hard learning all of their lines, songs, dances and moves. I've very impressed with this theater group and how they've worked with the kids. It's amazing what they've learned about a production in just 4 days!
I'm sure it was great! Sounds like lots of fun!

Congrats on single digit dancing too!:banana::banana: (are you packed?;))

Good morning.:)
Anne Marie-are you planning on going to the special AP shopping event at DTD on July 24th?

Has anyone ever gone?

Hope you have a great weekend with faimly.

Cruise sounds wonderful! Sounds like you're just as busy as ever.

That sounds a lot less stressful!

:hug:How disappointing.
