I seriously just wrote the longest post I've written in months, and my session timed out! :rotfl:

I hope you are having a good weekend! :wave2:

Our drive down was smooth (17 hours with Kevin driving the whole way) and we've taken it easy these first 24 hours. Now we're all checked in and unpacked at the Boardwalk and we're headed to MK in a bit for an early dinner at Tony's and MVMCP.

I'll try to check in again soon! :)

Look who showed up to see who was naughty or nice at our Open House!

We have been super busy today. We took the kids bowling with a new family that just moved into town. They have 2 boys that will be in the same grades as Nick and Hunter so we thought it would be good to get them together before the boys start school on Tuesday.

Once we got home we assembled Chris' new garage. The intructions said 2 hours, but it took 4  That put me behind on my errands. I ended up getting to JcPenneys for their VIP sale after 6:30 PM. I did find some Christmas presents. I also found this:

I was so tempted, but cannot justify the price. Maybe it will be on clearance after Christmas:confused3

that tempted me last year

Well we had a rough finish to what was otherwise a really good trip, we had breakfast at Boma which was good but we think Tusker House is much better.

Then headed out to MK to spend our last few hours. They opened Space Mountain in test mode and of course I had to give it a try. The wait time was 45 minutes but I was willing to wait to see what all the new changes were. It looks like they have some new "graphics" that you see while in line, the rockets are still single rider but they are either new, of have been completely redone, the upholstry is definitely new. So we wait in line all this time, load up in our rocket, get to the top of the hill where you blast off in 3 seconds, and everything stops, the lights come on and we just sit there. We hear them announce that do to technical difficulties they are going to have to shut it down and everyone must exit at this time, so we sit and wait. We start hearing announcements that we should stay seated until our host or hostess arrives to assist us. Finally after what seems like forever two young boys show up, they are both out of breath, saying that that was a lot of stairs. I have to admit that I was in a bit of a panic, I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to climb out of the rocket at the angle we were sitting, luckily I managed and we all climbed down single file and were lead out of the ride. I know it was test mode but I was surprised they didn't at least offer us a fastpass for later or another ride, but nothing. That is not an experience I care to repeat.

We get back to AKL to pick up our truck, and discover that someone has attempted to break into it and have destroyed the lock on the drivers side. So that took another two hours to file the report with Disney and the county, we're looking at $250 deductible to have it repaired.

I know that they are not responsible for guest vehicles but I do plan on sending an email to guest services about it. Why do we have all the security and gates if anyone can come in? I feel it gives people a false sense of security, I also got the impression that this is a common occurance.

We're in Tallahassee now and will head home in the morning, I'm hoping we don't have too much of a mess to deal with from the storm.
Debbie-that really sucks! What a way to end your trip!

we have our first loose tooth
Congrats! Is she excited???

That was nice of you to go bowling with the new family!

That lamp is cool but you already have a cool one! (or it is 2?).

I just got an email from my friend Terry in FL. Someone shot and killed one of her cats with a hunting arrow.:sad2: She thinks it was one her neighbors 2 or 3 doors down. Now she's worried about her other cats but she says she can't keep them in.

My photos aren't great-my battery was dieing so the camera wouldn't focus.

I've been working on Christmas gifts. We exchanged gifts with Gene's sister in St Louis, her husband, her DD in MN and her husband and 6 year old DD. I tried for like 3 years to send gifts just to my great niece but they kept sending us really nice gifts so I've given into the guilt and send them gifts again. I find it really difficult to buy for folks I only see once or twice a year-and have never been to their house. AND.....somehow it all falls on me.......

SO....I thought I would try to make them something....so I made my great niece and niece matching aprons. I really like they style of the child's apron-just over the head-no ties. Not sure I like the adult one. I made one pot holder but need to make another.

I made my nieces husband and my BIL trash bags to hang off a head rest. They had a plastic liner-first time I've ever used that stuff.

Very nice :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I was thinking I might try to make Halley (in Florida) a name pillow (I still owe her a birthday gift from September too). I already have the name stitched out on one for Emma. I was thinking of leaving it for her and one for Joe when I go away. Then I was thinking about making one for my great niece Eleanor (lots of letters :rotfl:) too but I'm thinking I'll run out of time.

Amy glad you all made it safely!

Bernadette you have been busy, great job as always :thumbsup2

Jennifer yea for the loose tooth!

Elin I am not ready for Santa sightings :rotfl:

Becky thanks for the ideas. I'm thinking the girls won't want pilgrims hats, but maybe I'm wrong?

Bernadette my sewing machine is still in the box that I got for Christmas last year. Maybe one of these days I will get it out.

she was once she realized she would get money from the tooth fairy;)
Do you remember Lizzy pulled a tooth out when Emma got a Disney Dollar for loosing her first tooth at WDW? She never even put out the last 2 teeth she lost-but I don't know that she's given up on the tooth fairy yet. I think Emma has a few more loose ones-I think she's only lost 2 so far.

Bernadette you have been busy, great job as always :thumbsup2
Thanks! Yes...I've been a sweat shop the last couple of weeks. I'm hoping not to be after my trip but I'll be wanting to make stuff for Emma's trip.

Becky thanks for the ideas. I'm thinking the girls won't want pilgrims hats, but maybe I'm wrong?
Emma would.:rotfl2: Isn't there an easy way to make a paper bonnet for girls?

You really should get it out. I am really lucky that I learned to sew in school-my home tech was tough but I guess she taught me something. You should start with the easy fit pants on www.youcanmakethis.com it is the BEST pattern! You learn some stuff you can use on other projects and you'll be happy with how nice the results are so you'll be encouraged to make other things. Commercial patterns often go on sale at JoAnn's for $1 but they are so awful! That adult apron is a commercial pattern and I'm really not that happy with it.

I had forgot about Lizzy doing that. :rotfl:

I need to as I am not seeing much clothes I like at the stores for me or the girls. How hard is it to make Pj's I was thinking of trying to make them matching ones for next years dec trip. See I have a year to learn. But will probably try sooner like Easter for their dresses.
