you all are funny!! That means I've been married 18 and 1/2 years and my demon nephew is 14....kind of appropriate don't you think? Also, did you know that if you hit yourself in the head it hurts just the same as hitting your head on the wall? Yep, I know that from personal experience now

What is the point of them going if there is no power, nothing like sitting in a dark classroom

I figured out the reason (at least for our state). If they are in school for at least part of the day (I think it's 2 hours) and than sent home, it doesn't count as a snow/no use day and still get state funding for the full day. That is why LPS were the only district in metro Denver that was in school a couple of weeks ago but were able to send the kids home early.

What's next?

Since the heart attack incident on Monday it has been determined that each lifeguard will be evaluated on all rescues, saves, first aid, cpr, etc etc. Hmmm wouldn't that have always been important? And when will the rest of the staff be trained at all? Boneheads

I will be updating my resume this weekend and applying for ANY new job

UGG sickies be gone!!!!!

Olivia woke up yesterday before I left for work and was very clingy and whiney telling me she did not want me to go to work, I get home from work last night and she is real clingy. She then tells me her throat hurts. Well she has a slight temp. 99.9. This morning its 100.4 and her throat still hurts to swallow and to talk she says. so no dance she is back asleep right now. We have a dr appt at 2:10.

What's next?

Seems to me that every dept. needs one person on shift that is CPR and First Aid certified...but I've figured out common sense isn't all that common.

Wish I had someone to get a good Disney Christmas present for. Mouse of Zen is doing his haikus to your own Disney picture. It's $25 for the 10x13 print of your picture and the haiku on a white matte. They look really cool and his haikus are great. Where's that Disney-loving spouse when I need one.

Thanks! I am not super saavy on this stuff but netbooks do not have a CD right? I think I have to look for laptops so the kids can use the CD for games & movie watching.

I saw a laptop at best buy for $329 so far that is the cheapest I have seen where they have them in stock.

Our modem gave up the ghost on Wednesday evening and the tech couldn't get here until this morning. Then I couldn't secure our router so I bought a new one and installed that today too. Off to teach in a bit but I will be back. If there has been a major development in anything, please let me know! Otherwise I will see you all tonight!

So apparently if you conduct yourself like an adult and make clear concise points to someone that will actually listen to you and has respect for you...doors can be unlocked. My coworker called me this afternoon to tell me that the door we considered critical, has now been unlocked. We needed to agree to not leave it open and to help monitor that it is not left open by other guards. I'm fine with that as long as we can walk through it and close it behind us. I'll call it a small victory
