Crap! :headache:
A crown just popped completely out of my mouth. The gold one that has only been in there about 2 years. I HATE dental stuff! HATE HATE HATE it!!! I think he can just cement the crown back in there - I didn't bite it or break it or anything. But I think the filling in the tooth in front of the crown is missing a chunk. It's amazing how much you can see if you stick a really bright book light in your mouth. Of course what I saw will mean a really expensive bill in my future. Crap. Crap, crap, crap.

I'm sorry Elizabeth. That sounds painful and expensive :scared1:

It's good to see so many people posting. It's nice to see Denise and Chanon :goodvibes All the Disney talk is making me want to go. I know that we will be there next summer, but it's going to be a short trip Disneywise since we will also have the cruise and Universal/Sea World. The next year we won't do Disney and the year after will be Hawaii. That means no real Disney time for years to come :sad1: (Is it bad that I don't consider 7 days real Disney time?) Those other trips will be wonderful of course so I shouldn't mind. We are planning on staying at the Disney resort in Hawaii so maybe that will help?

Shall I make it a party of 15 on Saturday the 5th?

Dec 1 to 7 for my crew of 4 (Dorinda, Ralph, Lizzy & me) then Terry & Halley on the weekend.

I am not sure. My cousin has a high school band trip to Florida in December. It will only be his 2nd trip. He also went to Aruba this past July with a friend. His brother has not been able to go anywhere fun and they have both had a rough year. I have been thinking about taking him to WDW for a few days, at the same time his brother goes. Not sure if it will fly with his parents or if it will happen. But it is a thought in my head the past few days.

Also announcements about DCL for 2011 coming in 9 days.

Thanks, Deb. It actually doesn't hurt. :confused3 I am hoping the dentist can get me in tomorrow and glue it back on before I have to go get Princess. I thought the recording said they are open Tues AND Thur, but I called back and now I think she said Tues THROUGH Thur. So hopefully tomorrow AM. If not, we drive past his office on the way home from her school. I guess she can sit in her stroller for a bit if he can get me in later. IF they are actually open.

We made it from last August to this August without any days at WDW. I think you will enjoy your other trips and maybe not miss WDW too much.

Elizabeth, I agree,,,,,I hate dental work. I still have a baby tooth that is starting to give me trouble and I have decided to get it pulled and then will get a bridge put in. I hope to have it done before our December trip. :goodvibes

Good luck! I cringe at the thought of the dentist. It was bad enough to have to go with DS to have his teeth cleaned last week!

It's a slight adaptation on Vicki's "Great Aunt Bess' Banana Bread"
Mix:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup oil (Vicki's is for shortening)
2 beaten eggs
4 T milk
dash salt

Add:
3 soft bananas
Add:
1 t soda
2 cups flour
1 pkg chopped nuts (optional)

Bake 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. It's done with toothpick comes out clean. Makes one large loaf.

**When I have 4 larger bananas or 5 smaller ones, I make a batch and a half and bake it in two pans. The loaves are still nice sized that way. Plus, I usually add about 1/2-3/4 cup of chocolate chips to one loaf per Terra's request. It is really yummy and our favorite recipe! THANKS VICKI!

I told you when I posted it that it was the best banana bread going! I'll have to try it with the chocolate chips sometime. I have to admit that it is something that has strong ties to my childhood memories. Mom always made it for all of our family gatherings - Christmas parties, summer picnics, reunions, etc. Dad and Mom were from large families so these were always very big gatherings.

Just stopping in real quick to say hello before I go to sleep-im exhausted!! We had a 3.5 hour meeting this morning, then worked in the classroom til 430. Then 7 of us went out for dinner/dessert and just got home! It was a good day though!

We are being mandatory called off 1 time every 2 weeks or so. NO pay. I feel your pain. Do you get paid when you are on call at home?

We have 6 mandatory furlough (unpaid) days off. I think I have two left this month. It has been 1 day every 2 weeks. One of them is Friday. The time has been nice but the cut in pay is horrible. Some families are really struggling. We are still waiting to hear what the cuts are in the new fiscal year starting October 1. The October 1st layoff slips went in the mail because they don't have a budget set yet. They have to give 30 days notice so had to send them out. It definitely wasn't the time for me to take a promotion and have to set up a second household. Chuck & I will be fine but Disney is out this fall.

I'm off to bed as well. I'm exhausted. I was up and to work by 5:30am this morning and didn't get back to the apartment until 8:30pm. I am driving home tomorrow and taking an annual day on Thursday. That gives me a 5-day week-end to spend with Chuck. We are going camping to our favorite campground (near Michigan Tech where we met & fell in love). A couple we are close to (from my work) will be in the campsite beside us. Our best friends (a couple that lived next door to us when we first got married and moved into married student housing) live about 15 minutes away and we'll be spending lots of time with them. I can't imagine anything important that has happened that they haven't been a part of over the years.

I'm really excited about the week-end. It is going to be fantastic - cold weather and all. We'll be camping on Lake Superior. :cheer2: :dance3: :cloud9:   :hippie:

I still need to figure out what if anything I am doing for my vacation time in less then two weeks.

I also have the last weekend of the month to plan stuff for. Or I could stay here and clean. ;):confused3 I know we had talked about possibly doing something that last weekend, but nothing besides the idea of doing so. Does anyone still want to do something the weekend of Sept. 25-28th? If so what and where? Or just Sat/Sun of that weekend.

Vicki,,,,,it is always so much fun to be with friends you have known for a long time. Have a fantastic time.

Sure wish we were able to hook up this year. Hopefully in the future!!!!

Good morning. :)

I hope you can get into the dentist today, Elizabeth. :wizard:

Elizabeth-hope you can get your crown/filling fixed today!

Vicky-you weekend plans sound wonderful!!!

I set the alarm for 5:45am again this morning to make online ADR's. Good thing I woke up on my own at 5:45 because I forgot to turn the alarm on. Yesterday I could retrieve our resort reservation with the number and phone number on file. This morning they wanted reservation number, last name and arrival date. The arrival date was in a "calendar" and I couldn't get it to work on my Mac.:headache: So glad I bought this laptop in the spring!!!

I got everything I wanted with a bit of flexibility-had to book a little early on a few ADR's and change the day for Le Cellier but I think it will all work out OK. Now I have to wait til 7am to try to make a group dining reservation.

Would that make you & your cousins a party of 3? How old are the boys?

Elizabeth I hope you can get into the Dentist today!

Vicki enjoy your long weekend at home!

Bernadette glad you were able to get the ADR's you wanted, good luck with the group ressie!

Tammi, and anyone else who has done the KTTK tour, would you recommend it? I'm thinking of booking it in November.

Good morning, DDA!

My computer is weird today. :headache: It has been doing strange things since we had it turned off for the 2 weeks we were gone. Now every time I turn it off it is a struggle to get it back up and running.

IF the dentist is open they don't come in until 10 AM. And I know from experience if you are the first appt. of the day and there is a gap before the next person, they will call and try to convince you to move your appt. later so they don't have to come in at 10 AM. We'll see what time it is before I get a call back.

Bernadette - Yay for ADRs!! I was playing with the online system last night and I was able to find the places I want at the times I want the week before, so I am pretending that is a good sign. :rotfl:

I enjoyed it. If you don't know it already, you learn about the history of WDW, the working relationship of Walt and Roy, how attractions and areas were developed and why they were developed that way. We went backstage behind Frontierland and saw the trash "bin", the water area for splash, where they store floats for the parade, and the dancers were back there rehearsing the Boo to You parade. He took us on 2 attractions and we went down to the utiladors. That wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. No hustle/bustle down there, no characters running around without their heads on, no princesses out of character. Like Elizabeth, I was hoping to see something scandalous. But yes, if you are interested in these kinds of things, book it! AP holders get a discount too. :thumbsup2
