6-10. A short trip, using fewer points. My plan is not to go to WDW next summer and save the points for a really nice December trip. Think I can hold out???I'm aiming for a cruise in the summer.
Jet Blue is going to change they way do miles in the fall to "improve things for their customers...". Right now I need to fly to Orlando 6.25 times to earn a flight but miles expire after 12 months if you don't have the Amex card. That was why I got the Amex card so that I wouldn't loose the miles I earned actually flying. I have already earned 3 free RT tickets and am soooo close to this next one so I would say it has been worth the annual fee. I can buy 10 points for $50 but I don't know that it would be worth it or not. I'm just really hoping that I just squeak by.Bernadette - I hope the points work out for your free airfare!
I think we have to fly something like 12 round trips before we have enough miles for a free ticket. They charge a fee to transfer miles from one account to the other, so when fares are relatively low the transfer fee is only about $50 less than the fare to buy a ticket.
Compared to last year with the tropical storm, I would say we had excellent weather! We did have torential rain storms many afternoons but they were all short lived. The rain we had on Elizabeth's birthday, our last day, was the only rain we had in the afternoon-other days was around 5-6pm. It also wasn't as hot as it could have been-low 90's. It was HIGH 90's in May. It has been more uncomfortable here the past few days than it was at WDW.Anne Marie and Bernadette - I got through all of your pictures today and really enjoyed looking at them. Thanks for sharing. It seems you had some nasty weather. I only remember one late afternoon downpour that lasted for a few hours. Last year we had rain almost every day.
Continued prayers for Brendan and Erin.Brendan went to another doctor the other day and now has another worry to add to his list. After his last colonoscopy they found that he now also has ulcerative colitis. The doctor wants him on two new medications. One of these was recommended by his liver doctor about 3 years ago, but the cost after insurance was about $200 per month. At the time, it would not have been that helpful to him in the long-run so the doctor encouraged him not to spend the money. NOW it will help and is imperative with the ulcerative colitis. Without these two medications, his chance of developing colon cancer is 70%. Should he develop colon cancer, he would automatically be ineligible for a liver transplant which will be inevitable for his cirrhosis/Primary sclerosing cholangitis. The plus side is that there are now generics of the medication plus the possibility that costs have come down in the last couple of years and he has a slightly different/better insurance. They haven't been to the pharmacy yet so we don't yet know where it will fall.
I've been rereading stuff about these diseases and his primary diagnosis normally begins in patients between 30-60 years old. Brendan just turned 25. He gets to be one of the rare ones for which it began in childhood. She never says it and tries hard not to show it, but I know that Erin is scared. She can see his memory starting to fail some and his energy slowly decrease and we all know these are signs of progression. Brendan tends to bottle things up until they explode into a glass thrown across the kitchen or a door slammed so hard it breaks off the hinges (bad lessons from a not-so-great father). I know that prayers are already said for them, but I just wanted to post the latest. Thanks everyone!
sweetI just booked our flight down for January and it only cost me $28!!!! Well, not really since I had a credit for the SWA flights I canceled. But still, those had already been paid for so I'm only out a few dollars more. Now I need to wait for SWA to release the rest of the Jan. dates so I can book our return flight.
