DDA chapter 21

Good day, DDA!

The laundry is all done; the kitchen is clean; Kristin is set for transportation M-W... The car is packed, with the exception of our one suitcase and the small cooler. We are planning to leave here around 8:00 tomorrow morning in case we hit beach traffic. Kathrin's plane is supposed to land in Newport News at noon so that give us 4 hours to make a 2 1/2 hour drive. I figure if there is no traffic Bob and I can stop and have brunch!

We left this morning at 9am and got home just after 6pm. Just when we got over the Chesapeak Bay Bridge, it got really dark and starting raining to beat the band. So we drive home in the rain for the rest of the way. We did stop for lunch at a really nice Italian restaurant.

Elin, I sure hope you do not get any of this rain. If it rained down there last week it was only late at night. Can't wait to hear about your time there.

If we go next year, it will be a week later because of when the grandsons get out of school.

Surprisingly, I had a great time!! In fact, I think everyone did. What cracks me up the most is that Eric's parents seemed more at ease with the cousin and friends than they have ever been with my SIL & BIL. The language barrier wasn't as bad as I feared. The worst was when my MIL would look at me and speak German and then could not fathom why I couldn't understand her!!! The cousin kept pointing out that she was speaking to me but my MIL insisted I knew what she was saying.

I finally made our reservation for August today, we've decided to go with NO ADR's this time. We're just going to wing it, DH wants to add the dining plan to our November trip so there will be ADR's.

I'm heading off to a bridal shower for my best friend's daughter. Feeling guilty that I wasn't able to assist with it. Her aunts are putting it on.

I just came back from the fitness center, so that's out of the way for today. I *REALLY* want to try to exercise on the treadmill Tu & Th next week before work. If I can do Wii Fit M, W, & Fr. then that would be even better. But we'll see how it goes.

I got the Miley Cyrus tickets today! Excellent seats. The concert is Nov 3 so Merry Christmas to my kids!

The vet was impressed by how healthy Little Cat is. He gave Little Cat a de-worming treatment and tested him for feline leukemia and AIDS. Tests were negative. He gave us the name of a rescue group that might take Little Cat (IF we offer them a donation to offset their costs), but DH is balking at that. Vet said we need to be aggressive in finding a home for Cat NOW, because he is about 8 weeks old. If he gets much older he will be harder to place. He said having the negative tests will go a long way towards finding a home, so that's good.

Nosh sounds like he's settling in well!

My bet is Little Cat already has a home.
