Tammi - did you get the 10% off coupon for Meadows Farms?
No, but I don't have time to go over there tomorrow. Soccer at 10 and then I need to leave for work at 1:30. Thanks anyway.

I actually got a pin code!!! Can't use it but I got one. I am still gonna call tomorrow and whine a little. Can't hurt to try.

I am not concerned about the swine flu at this point either. Look at mad cow disease from a couple of years ago. I did hear on the news this morning that it does not have the gene that the one back in the early 1900's did. They made that sound like it was great news.

I'm finally home and relaxing too, albeit short-lived. Nicholas and his dad went to the race tonight, in Richmond. So that meant a girls night for me and Alyssa. After tap lessons we grabbed a quick bite to eat, then I gave her the choice of going shopping at Justice to spend her gift card or going to the Hannah Montana movie. Of course she chose the movie! When we walked into the theater there were only a handful of people, to include our next door neighbor and her daughter, so we sat with them. I really enjoyed the movie. Alyssa has asked to get it on DVD. She doesn't get the concept that there is a lag between theater and DVD. I just had to buy the soundtrack of the movie. There are quite a few really good songs....Butterfly, The Climb and of course the Hoedown Throwdown, which I vow to learn.

Tomorrow Nicholas has a soccer game, Alyssa has a photograph session at dance, and then I'm going to work from 3 until midnight, a sweet OT assignment, paying cash. ChaChing! I'm working it all next weekend too. I'll be beat, but it's good money. Oh my parents are coming into town tomorrow night too.

Whoa... you are going to be busy!! Take it easy. :goodvibes

OK... sorry you can't get your porch baskets.

Wow, you do have a busy weekend. I hope you can get some sleep at some point. I'm sure your kids will love have your parent's around. :goodvibes

There is still a lot of controversy over whether using antibacterial soap is a good idea or not. My understanding is that it can weaken the immune system.

Here's one exerpt on it:
While Triclosan is generally — but not universally — regarded as safe, numerous studies have questioned its necessity. A 2007 research project by the University of Oregon School of Public Health concluded that plain soap and water are as effective in removing bacteria from the hands, and additional research questions whether the indiscriminate use of Triclosan might contribute to the development of hardier bacteria.

Everything that I have read basically shows the same concern. While it is important to wash your hands regularly, nothing has proven that antibacterial soap has created a reduction in any type of disease. Something I learned a long time ago holds true in this as well, everything in moderation.

I remember reading somewhere that it kills all bacteria, even the good kind that you need on your skin :confused3

How are you tonight? Are you home or in Lansing? Have your started looking for an apartment yet?

Sounds great! I hope that you have a great rest of the day!!!
it was i ended up getting a Canon A1000 IS camera it was on sale at sears, then to my moms where she made me Chicken fried steak. yumm. Of course we had cake and vanilla ice cream as well.

Jennifer - Happy Birthday to you

I'm not panicking about the Swine flu, but I have purchased extra purell, clorox wipes and lysol for our trip, thank goodness we're driving so bringing extra stuff won't be an issue.

With my asthma I have a really hard time with respiratory illnesses anyway.
thanks Debbie,
stay safe

So during the chemical stress tests, my mother's heart stopped!! After performing chest compressions they got it restarted. Thankfully they got enough data for the test. They also beleive she may have diabetes. So waiting for those tests as well. I am heading over shortly.

I had a procedure on my finger today...I have a cyst that has been causing pain...they shoved in the world's largest needle. I actually yelled and had to restrain from smacking the doctor. Unfortunately he recommends surgery to remove it as he thinks aspiration will not be successful.

And in other news....Bill has decided to have double knee replacement. Consult is on the 13th. He is in so much pain he is almost handicapped by it. So it is definitely time.

Holy Crap I'm so glad they were able to restart you Mom's heart, how scary  I hope they were able to figure out what is wrong and the proper treatment.

Wow, double knee surgery for Bill :wizard:.
scraplifting,,,,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIFER!!!!
thanks Terry

Tammi - I hope your extra shift is an easy one!
Yay for your parents coming to visit! :)

The police appear to be back outside, in different vehicles. Very strange. I want to know what they are doing, but I don't want to risk being collateral damage so I will not go ask them. I will keep looking out the window. Carefully. ;)

I need to go to bed, but I am not tired. I have actually set my alarm! I never set an alarm but 5:00 will get here very soon since it is already 12:30. If I don't get on in the morning, I will talk to you all on Monday night!

Tammi- Your girls night out sounded like fun!! If you learn the Hoedown Throwdown can I come take lessons from you? Yay for extra $$. Enjoy the visit with your parents.

Elin- Safe travels.

Kristine- Lots of :wizard:headed your way!!! I hope everyone will be right as rain soon.

Elizabeth- Anything scandalous happen overnight?

Becky- Stay dry at camp this weekend.

Eric called me from school pickup yesterday to tell me that the custodian at Em's school was found dead yesterday morning. He didn't come to work so they called his wife. She went home and found him on the couch. Apparently, he died from a heart attack, he was 62. Em was very sad when she got home. He used to tease her incessantly about having a crush on this one boy. And he also would "pay" her for helping him out in cleaning the lunch tables. Eric went to school with his daughter.

Em just came downstairs. And so starts our weekend of fun.:rotfl:

Yay. ;)

DH is mad at me because I said it is his fault the cat has been chewing the laptop cord. Hello? It IS his fault! He gets the laptop out and LEAVES it out! On top of the cocktail table, which is a favorite spot of the cat. YES, it is HIS fault! ANd if we have to replace the cord it will cost $70! :scared1:

If those police did anything scandalous they were VERY quiet. :confused3
