Elin-your Easter dinner looked great!

Tammi-welcome home

Hello. Just popping in between all the running around. Hunter's ped agrees that he has the symptoms of depression and anxiety, but she will not prescribe meds. She is referring us for a pedicatric psych med eval. The first available appointment is in June, which isn't acceptable to the doctor. She is working on something sooner and will call us hopefully this week. The guidance counseler also called and he will be working with Hunter for the rest of the year. He is also seriously considering moving him to the other classroom for next year. He said that is not something that he or the school would normally consider, but given the circumstances and the guidance counselors own experiences with that class. Apparently the boys in that class with the exception of Hunter leave him with plenty of anxiety so he can only imagine how bad it is for Hunter
More :wizard: and  for Hunter!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes for Mo!! She enjoyed seeing them all (Tammi, Debbie & Deb I'll be sure to show her yours in the morning.) She had a pretty good day, considering she fell down the steps tonight at bedtime and I completely forgot to give her her gifts!! I am so sad though that she is 5. :sad1:
Belated bday wishes for Molly. :hug:for you!

I forgot to mention that Hunter figured out the whole tooth fairy, easter bunny, santa thing last night. He went through a range of emotions, but handled the news pretty well. He has been sworn to secrecy and is now my new helper ;)
more  for Hunter! I can't believe a couple of mine haven't figured it out.:rolleyes1

How can I possibly have an 18 year old? And next month the "baby" will be double digits!
:hug:for you too!

Lucy had her pre-op appointment this morning. She still has fluid in her ears, although they are not infected. She had to have a hearing test and she missed all of the softest sounds. Her throat is inflamed so she in on yet another antibiotic.

Molly is at a friend's house for a playdate and I will pick her up in a bit and head off to her 5 year well check up. I also need to ask her about getting Em tested for lactose intolerance. We had her on the pills back in kindergarten for a long time and then we slowly backed her off of them and she seemed to do fine. Well the past month or so she has complained of chronic tummy aches and feeling like she has to throw up. I kept asking her if something has been bothering her and she insists things are all good. Yesterday evening she was fine and then she had milk for dinner and about an hour later the symptoms were back. So I'm beginning to think it's not all in her head!
:wizard:for Lucy and yourEmma!

It looks like Hunter's friend will be able to go with us on Friday. He will be excited about that. I just need to firm up the details. I need to call Nick's friend's Mom too. I guess I should do this now since I'm only home for another 15 minutes :sad2:

ETA: Nick's friend can go too. The boys should be happy tonight :cool1: That means 2 adults and 5 kids at an amusement park  It should be fine since Chris and I are just big kids anyway:rolleyes1

I hope to have lots to read when I get home tonight. I'm starting to feel like this group is breaking up and I'm praying that is not the case. So post people, post away:hug:
Friday sounds fun!

I agree with everyone else-I don't think we're going anywhere. I've just been busy!

I am doing laundry and finding more jobs to apply to. I swear I have the most interesting life.:rotfl2:I have an interview at Target on Thursday.

Cassidy and I had a confrontation yesterday. The band director hit them yesterday with the fact they will be on their own for 8 meals, not the 3 he originally stated. Well that puts me into a panic to find extra spending money because the $50 I am scrounging to find to send her with will more than likely not be enough. She came in and yelled that it wouldn't be enough as I am emptying my piggy bank (it literally is a piggy:goodvibes). I calmed down and went and told her that instead of the attitude I was getting it might make my job easier to give an attitude of gratitude. I am still waiting for that attitude....teens are a hoot, let me tell you.
:wizard:Goodluck with Target! :hug:That stinks that the band director is changing the terms after you're already committed.

my life is the same thing day in and day out...and I know I get tired of living it so I am sure you all would tire of hearing about it.
I wouldn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom has found a surface lump in her left breast (the one that had cancer) so she has to have a Cat-scan on Fri.
:wizard:I'm so sorry!

DH came home early from work today, he said he was feeling awful and was dizzy. I sent him to the doctor, he has a sinus infection. He has left work early maybe three times in the last ten years, so I knew he was feeling pretty bad.
:wizard:Hope he's feeling better soon! And hope you find a way out of your funk too!

I'm here, I've read everything but have been bad about posting. Right now I'm dealing with something that really has me in a funk, and I'm not sure how to pull myself out of it.
Me too. My life is so stressful right now, that I come here to escape it as much as I can. I don't want to deal with RL here, so that is why I rarely post about it.

My child is a bonehead. He must like 7th grade A LOT to want to stay there for another year. :sad2::headache: I am truly so furious at him I can't even deal with him. There is no way he will be able to pull his grades up in only 35 days. No way. I don't know much about summer school, but I am relatively certain it won't be very useful in this situation since there my be multiple failures. It fascinates me that he got into Honor Society last year and now he could potentially FAIL, oh, I don't know how many classes. Four, I suppose? Gotta love that.
Sorry. :wizard::hug:

I am wondering how exactly Cassidy is going down a similar road.:hug::hug:

Thank goodness for vision insurance! Nicholas and I went to pick out his frames tonight. I went with all of your advice and got him the bifocals. So for $90 we got a $400 pair of glasses. The only reason we had to pay the $90 was because the entire cost of progressive lenses was not covered, so we had a copay for that. They should be ready in about 10 days or so.

Awesome! I got chills listening to her sing, she has a great voice.

The thing that amazes me the most is that video was posted 3 days ago and has had over 3 million hits. It only aired on TV 3 days ago in Britain. More information about Susan Boyle is available here.

:hug:for you too!

Check out this video
That was so cool-someone was watching it at work today but this version is better.

SOOOOOO......I'm posting from my new laptop! I brought it in to work today and they unloaded all the crap and loaded MS Office. He told me to go buy a router at lunch and he got that all set up too so I just had to plug it in when I got home.

We had a nice Easter. We went to church but my SIL wasn't preaching. My DH took her to the ER Monday-she has pneumonia. There has been a lot of that around here. One of the neighbor kids had it, Lizzy's scout leader's son had it, and one of my coworker's boyfriend who is probably in early 40's is in the hospital in intensive care.

:hug::hug: for each of you.

I have been here, but like Elin I just have had nothing to post about. My life is boring :rolleyes1 I having been reading the Twilight series of books & I am getting ready to start on book 3. When I read I have a hard time pulling myself away & reading is something I have not done a lot of lately. With being able to read so many books online now, I think I will read as much as I can :goodvibes

Your night at six flags sounds like it is going to be fun. I so wish we had something closer to us to take the boys to. Our town has nothing & nothing is very close to us either :sad2:

Six Flags isn't exactly close to us. It is about 2 hours and 15 minutes away. We really need a break from real life and this fits the bill, plus if we purchase a seasons pass we will definitely make more trips this summer :cool1:

Can we help? Do you need a sounding board?

On No :wizard::wizard:That it isn't anything serious.

Heidi, good thoughts for your mom! :wizard:

Debbie, I hope you are able to work out of your funk soon! I'm glad Richie went to the Dr. - I hope he is feeling better!! :wizard:

OMG How is that possible?:confused3 He's been doing okay all year and suddenly the bottom drops out?

I'm glad you got the glasses ordered. He will have much fewer headaches and he'll be able to see things better at school :goodvibes

I was so glad to come home and see that so many people posted today. It seems that you've all been here, just not feeling up to posting. Remember that we are here for good and bad. It seems that most of us are struggling with something right now, but it's nice to know that I can type it out and get it off my chest, sometimes that is enough to make me feel better. I hope I'm not bringing everyone down with my boring everyday stuff and all my work crap. I enjoy reading whatever you guys are willing to share so don't hold back, post away.

Debbie - I hope Richie feels better in the morning.

Becky - I am with you. I am ready for some SUN! I knew about the tornadoes, but not about the snow in Georgia!

Here is some exciting news.....

My son-in-law just posted on Facebook....received a call from the White House communications staff last night. Myself, Guenna, and Nicholas were invited to have a 30-minute chit-chat with President Obama Wednesday around 11AM at the White House. We're going, of course, along with only about 8 other people who were invited and who helped him in the early days of the campaign. At around 11:30 we'll "meet the press" to talk about the meeting.

Then Guenna posted.....OK, everyone. We may or may not be standing behind President Obama when he gives his televised speech (check CNN, CNBC) between 11-12:30 midday. And Nick has a big letter to give to the President from his school. Loving it!

Guenna told me will be wearing a t-shirt that says "One day I will be able to vote" he remembered he had the shirt and when he realized what was going to happen, he asked to wear it. Of course, it will be under a button up!!!!

I am stunned by the cost of glasses anymore. I think the markup must be phenomenal. I am glad you had the insurance too!
