DDA Chapter 19

So, my latest saga.....Alyssa has been home since Tuesday, the 10th, with a fever. It got up to 103 that day. Strep and flu test negative. Back in on Thursday for bloodwork. Fine. Still getting up to 100.something every afternoon. So tomorrow morning we are going back for more bloodwork. She has a horrible cough, that comes and goes. But once it comes, she goes into some major coughing spells. Other than the cough and fever she is fine. Eats, plays, is active. Mainly she is bored. I did take her to ballet tonight, just to let her get out of the house and do something. Whatever it is, it's got to be something viral and just needs to run it's course. Worst case I think would be viral pneumonia. But man, I'm burning some sick leave.

Yes, I haven't said anything, after I yelled at the nurse. Turns out I'm a big duffus.

No, but I'll mention that tomorrow. I had it, on top of strep, when I was 20, and it was horrid. I was in the middle of testing for this job, and being so weak and tired, I'm surprised I got hired.

Is that viral?

ETA: I was just reading about it and it is viral. Another funny thing, Alyssa complained the other day about her chest hurting, on the upper left side, just under her ribcage. Spleen issues. You might be onto something, Miss Elin.

It sounds like what we've had here. The kids had the cold/cough/fever 14 days ago and didn't get the rest of the "flu" stuff until Friday and Saturday. Now they have cough, fever, vomiting and the runs. So much fun. Apparently it is taking a lot of time to fully develope. The fever comes and goes along the way.

Colby and Hunter are both staying home today. They both had fevers at bedtime last night so we aren't even waking them this morning. I slept well in Colby's room so I have no idea how they slept. I do know that I woke up with the cough and phlegm this morning Not as bad as they've had so I'm heading in to work to see how it goes. Hopefully I will just get a little cold and not the flu.
