DDA Chapter 18

Good morning DDA--itw as not a great night here in my firefighter family. There was another big fire and multiple guys were taken to the hospital. One is, as the newspapers quote it, fighting for his life. We do not know anything right now and it is so scary..But ill be headed off to work soon and will hopefully find an update

Who knows where I can get some teeth? Another science fair project that I came across was to put teeth in several different beverages (water, milk, oj, soda, etc) and see which decays a tooth faster. Sounds interesting and simple. The article I read suggested checking with a vet. The others that caught my eye were which fruits/vegetable conduct the most electricity and why do some soda cans sink and some float. That last one has to do with the density of the sugar in the soda. If I can find someone who will let us borrow a multimeter, Nicholas is going to want to do the electricity one. It doesn't sound very award-winning, but it's what interests him.

The teeth in the soda is what they did on "Arthur", so it had had some pretty wide exposure. The electricity one is popular, too. Not sure if there is some way to spin those to make them unique. Really, as long as Nicholas is interested that's what matters.

Is anyone else as unimpressed with the Dancing with the Stars stars as I am?

It's not my favorite show to start with, and these stars are very "B" list.

DS is still sick. DH is going to hurry so DS won't be home by himself for very long. I sent DS back to bed. I am going to make an appt. for him to go to the pediatrician today since he isn't getting any better on his own.

I'm new and you don't know me and I haven't read the entire thread, but I would like to throw in my 2 cents.
1 - Definitely stay the extra day.
2 - Stay at the Studio at the beginning of the trip. To down size at the end might be a bit of a bummer.
3 - Do you really need a car if you aren't going off property. The transportation system can be such an adventure.
4 - yes, it will be hot. Plan for siestas in the middle of the day. 1-4pm
5 - Hurricane season. Disney hotels are rated very high for hurricanes.
6 - Free dining. Lucky You!
7 - Have loads of fun.

Why thank you Lisa. What a sweet post. I really appreciate you taking the time to care about my trip. It meant a lot to see this this morning. Yes, you're new and I don't know you, but I like you already!

It is amazing how differently people see the same thing. I looked at the dates of Night of Joy and immediately saw how close it was to my birthday. C saw the dates and immediately saw the opportunity to save vacation days by using Labor Day as the first day of vacation. She who has the points rule, so looks like we're going the 6th to the 13th. We're DVC so no free dining for us

I really am going to need a plan of action for the heat. There are some on this board who walked around Epcot dropping ice chips in their bras Sietstas sound like a winner. C is not a park commando at all, so there will be no death marches through the countries or race walks to any ride at rope drop. But I really, truly, have a problem with sweat running down my back like a river winding through my shoulder blades. I can actually imagine us going into Epcot just to eat at Coral Reef.

I will be moaning about this trip for the next seven months. I hope you continue to help me sort it all out!!!

Good Morning

I'm a tiny bit sore, but not nearly as bad as I feared I need to get a few more things done here before I go back for more exercise torture...um...I mean fun (trying to talk myself into the fun part ) I think that I will just swim today for my cardio workout. Tomorrow I'll hit the machines again. That will work well today since I work early tonight. My Mom is going to meet us at the club this afternoon and she will sit by the pool with the kids until Chris gets out of work. The kids will get exercise and her house will stay clean

I just found out that my Uncle Buck died this morning. He was 97 years old. His wife, my Aunt Elsie is the one who died last year the day after her 95th birthday. His body had been failing rapidly as of late although his mind was still sharp as a tack so I hope he has found some peace.

I didn't even realize it had started. I've gotten hooked on Heroes and Medium on Monday nights. Who are the stars?

I just found out that my Uncle Buck died this morning. He was 97 years old. His wife, my Aunt Elsie is the one who died last year the day after her 95th birthday. His body had been failing rapidly as of late although his mind was still sharp as a tack so I hope he has found some peace.

Oh, Robyn! I'm so sorry. Please know that I'm praying for your whole family. I'm sure that your Uncle Buck is truly at peace and is reunited with his Elsie!

Stephanie, I was thinking the exact same thoughts as you last year when I planned my first August trip to Florida. It was warm, but no where near unbearable. I was pleasantly surprised. On the other hand, when we were there in October of 2006, that's when I had the 'rivers of sweat running down my back'!

It doesn't start until sometime in March. There are no stars. The only one that I know anything about is Jewel.
