Good morning...
Well I spent about 3 hours in the ER last night. Apparently the pain I felt on Sunday was the start of an infection in my tooth/gum. My right side of my face swelled up a lot more yesterday evening and it is basically in my lower cheek, jaw and chin. Other than the fact that side of my face is 3 or 4 sizes bigger I have very little pain. My gums and teeth are a bit tender. We called our dentist and he wanted me to go to the ER to have IV antibiotics administered and wanted to make sure I didn't swell up to where I couldn't breathe.
So Eric and I headed off and I had a round of IV antibiotics and a CT scan. I managed to sleep some once we got home. Eric will be calling the oral surgeon in a little bit to get an appointment. So hopefully a little bit later I'll know a bit more about what is going to happen.
Oh and while we were at the hospital the stomach bug struck Emma. She has thrown up at twice that I know of.
I fear that this Christmas will be one to remember!!
Robyn -- I'm so sorry that all of this happened, and that you had to cancel one of your Christmas Eve traditions. I'm glad to hear, though, that you are feeling better.
Deb -- I hope Hunter feels better and that Nick, nor anyone else gets it.
Tammi -- I'm so sorry that your family has been so sick. I hope that Alyssan and Nicholas both have a great time with their Dad, and I hope you are feeling better and get some quality time to recharge. I also hope time passes quickly, as I know you must miss your kids.
It sounds like there were lots of happy children/families today.
I managed to twist my foot on Tuesday, and it's still bothering me. We took a quick trip to Austin after Randy got off on Tuesday, and got to have dinner wtih some good friends. Wednesday, we had lunch with Randy's family and exchanged gifts, then we drove back home. We usually eat dinner, so it was nice to get home at a decent time. We were up at 6 today, and I've been running ever since. We opened presents, had breakfast, tried to put gifts away, made fruit salad and mashed potatoes for lunch, had lunch and helped clean-up, took a 45 minute nap, then took down all 20 boxes or so of decorations. We had dinner, then I started catching up with what has been happening with my DIS family.
The boys had a smaller Christmas this year, but didn't seem to notice. Andrew got a wallet and shirt, Wii ski, Wii nerf, hand weights, gift cards, money and other assorted gifts. Jake got lots of nice
lego sets, a Green machine (kind of like a big wheel but for older kids) a RC boat, gift cards and money and some other things. Together, they got Guitar Hero World Tour and Wii fit. Randy gave me several presents to open, even though he wasn't supposed to, as we got a new TV for our bedroom. He said he knew since my Mom wasn't around that there wasn't anything for me to open that I didn't know about.
Elizabeth -- you will be disappointed to know that I don't have a thing packed yet, though I do have a few things set out. I have tomorrow to pack, then tomorrow night we are staying out at the airport since we're so far away and our flight is early.
I got a PM from Lindsay a few days ago, though I didn't see it until tonight. She was laid off on December 22nd, and could use some PD or prayers. They had previously laid off some employees, but when she, Elizabeth and I talked, we were hopeful that it was the end of the layoffs. Unfortunately it wasn't.
I'm off to get to sleep -- it is past my bedtime, but I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, albeit a little late. I hope to get on tomorrow, but if I don't, I hope everyone who is sick or looking for work feels better and gets great news soon. Take care my CHOSEN family. (as Tammi said!)
