Elin- I am so sorry Kathrin did not get the job at The Princeton Review. Lots of :wizard: for her.

Marci- Lots of :wizard: for your shoulder.

Vicki (and Tia)- I loved "My Dingaling" My friends from elementary school and I used to sing this all the time when we had our Friday night parties.

Tia- Yay for making progress in the playrooom.

Elizabeth and Marci- Thanks so much for the offers of help for Joe. When I talked to him I mentioned that you were there if he needed you and he was touched that you'd offer. So thank you both very much. He should be coming home today and just has to take it easy for a few days.

You have many incidents like this to look foward to

Oh, I know it! Toddlers are (in general) my absolute favorite though, hands down! :goodvibes

Good Morning.

I think I remember reading that some of you have the Canon S5. Is $250.00 a good price for it or could I do better? Of course the all hinges on me getting the overnight job anyway. I maybe just dreaming.

Um.... it depends how you look at it. $250 is well worth it. It's a FABULOUS camera. I'm still absolutely in love with it, and wish I had more time to mess with it more. It's a bit less than paid (I think I paid around $300), so at first I would consider it a good deal.

That being said, it's been discontinued and its replacement has been out for a while... so I would have guessed it would have been cheaper by now. (But of course I haven't looked).

Good luck! I hope you hear about the PO job to start, at least! :goodvibes

Good for you! I never did get myself moving like I would have liked! :sad2:

Well, I did end up piling the rest of the stuff in baskets and putting it back on the side of the playroom. I'll sort it out today, but I just got too beat in the end. I had plenty of days of "didn't get myself moving" so I understand. I'd love to have another one too. ;)

Elin, Tammi, Terry and anyone else whose animal friends are old or sick. I (too) often think about Thea getting older and I can't imagine.

:wizard: for Kristine and Becky's friends and family.... you ladies need a good day!

I've had at least 2 in a row! It's terrible!

Good (too early) morning, DDA. The phone woke me up at quarter to 7. I could have used another 30-45 minutes, but oh well. Maybe I can get a few more things done in the playroom while I drink my coffee and before it's time to leave.

It's craft fair day!!!
I love to craft fair. We have so many good ones around here during the fall. It's a big fundraiser for the different marching bands. This one though has become our tradition lately. I think this one in particular, mostly, because they allow strollers. They have a great variety too, some really cute stuff and great prices. Hopefully, we'll get some good Christmas shopping done today. Guess I need to make a list for that first though.

Have a good day everyone!

Did anyone else see Bolt last night? We saw it in Disney Digital 3D (and therefore get to use this guy(!) --> :3dglasses ) and really enjoyed it!

My parents came over while the girls were sleeping, and Cassi, Kyle and I went to see it. It was absolutely adorable, and so funny! I was surprised at a part or two that seemed a bit emotional for a younger audience, so if you have sensitive little ones make sure to PM me or someone who has seen it. I think they'd be fine, but it was just something that caught my attention. Then again, my sister and I both lost our minds when Mufasa died in the Lion King, so maybe we're overly-sensitive ;)

After the movie we stayed up a while with my family just laughing until our stomachs hurt. It was really nice, I miss hanging out with them! :lovestruc

Off to watch one of the best rivalries ever at a friend's parents house, and to visit with her and her husband who are in from Memphis. Then we're going to Eden Park (near downtown) for Balluminaria, which should be beautiful and just the thing to officially kick off the holiday season! :thumbsup2

Make it a great day, DDA! :goodvibes

That's a little less than I paid for it, it's the camera I used for the pictures in my trip report.

I've had at least 2 in a row! It's terrible!

Well, let's see, since yesterday was Friday that means I had 3 of those days this week and I think there were at least 2 the week before that. I think I'm out of chances though now. Today is pretty full and tomorrow is packed. That leaves Mon and Tues to get the dining room ready since Wed will be food prep and packing for Oklahoma.

I think a dose of  :wizard:  :wizard: for everyone is a must today.

Did anyone else see Bolt last night? We saw it in Disney Digital 3D (and therefore get to use this guy(!) --> :3dglasses ) and really enjoyed it!

I can't wait to see it. Terra has been pretty anti-movie theater movie lately, but she loves 3D so I think we're going to go sometime soon. I'm glad to hear you liked it.

And with that, a very Good morning to you all! I've got to go get some coffee brewing, find my way to the shower and probably pop a couple of ibuprofen for good measure. My back is a little upset about all of the standing, stooping and carrying I did yesterday. I don't think it's going to be too happy with me after several hours of craft fair walking without some anelgesic bribery.

Oh, quick question first...Has anyone ever heard of a fundraiser called flamingo wars? If so, have your participated and how did it work?

Morning everyone-
I ended up staying up late last night and wrapping al lthe books I got my kids for christmas, and a bunch of other things I had...
Today, i am ready to start packing, getting ready ,and all of that!

Emma got her first report card with actual grades and it was straight A's!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

 That is TERRIFIC Emma!

I am back with 2 stitches in my thumb. Once all the bleeding stopped it wasn't as bad as I first thought but I did do some damage. Total ER time was 2 hours, which is really fast. It doesn't hurt too bad right now but I am sure it will be later.

Thanks for all the well wishes for both Joe and I. I talked to him when I was waiting and he says he feels much better now.

I'm so sorry. All I could think of was blood and flesh and was glad I didn't actually see it. It must be very sore today. Try to take it easy.

Terry -

I really need to call and make an appt to have my oldest dog put down. He is 18 and feeling every bit of it. He's pretty much blind and deaf, and arthritic. I almost called while I was driving home today to make the appt. If I'm going to do it I need to do it before my trip to cut my kenneling cost in half. I can't bear to do it though. He was my first pet after I went out on my own, and has been with me ever since, through thick and thin. He is the one that stayed by my side, never left me, and has been with me longer than anyone. Probably longer than anyone combined!

I'm so sorry.

For Terry and family as well.

I got my computer back. Although it took John since he got home from work, and we had to uninstall McAfee.

Yea for computer's working!

Hugs to all of you. :wizard: I am sorry it is so crazy for all of us.

So I asked for good thoughts for my family and told you I would share later. So here it goes.

My Aunt and Uncle are separating. Aunt is going to Tennessee for Thanksgiving leaving my Uncle and the two boys here. She is coming back and they are still planning on living in PA until June. As of then who knows where they will end up. Apparently my Uncle is going to end up with the two boys. Let's just say they are both Mama's boys, so I know it is going to be tough on them. They are 10 and 14.

My Grandpa fell over backwards. He hurt his back and some other stuff. I am not 100% sure exactly what. He is in his 80s.

My brother had hurt himself during the car accident. He has at least one dislocated disk in his back. Plus he has summons, because they are now claiming the accident was his fault even though, the guy admitted to the police it was his fault.

We had two new employees start on Monday to replace, two of my co-workers in membership. The one's final day was today. The other moved to another department. So this has made time in the office crazy as myself and the other remaining membership manager are trying to train the two new hires. We are also trying to get our own work done. I have been out like 4 nights plus weekends every week this month. I am glad December is almost here as it is my slowest time of the year. As everyone is out and about with holiday celebrations.

Plus I had to clear snow off my car last night and this morning. Not my favorite thing in the world.

So I hope all of your lives are going better then mine.

If you hung in through all of this. Thanks!:cloud9:

Sending lots of PD to your family.

Well, I got the playroom 70% done this afternoon. Unfortunately the remaining 30% is still all over the living room so I guess I had better go finish. I moved everything out of the playroom so that I could rearrange the big pieces and have been working on getting the small stuff back in. I do have at least one big box of stuff going out of the house all together, and probably two, so that is good. Right now though, I'm starving so I've got to figure out what I want to eat and where to get it. Something is being picked up for dinner, that's for sure. I'm too beat to cook now!

Wow -- send some motivation my way. Good for you!

Kathrin did not get the job at The Princeton Review. :(

That is all I know because she texted me as I was teaching and then she was headed out to dinner with her room mates.

I'm so sorry. I hope one of the other recent interviews pans out.

No, thanks! I am still having trouble with my esophagus burning, even when I haven't had anything acidic. Not sure what the deal is with that but I hope it stops.

Oh, I am sorry! :guilty: How disappointing! I hope an offer comes her way soon!

Theresa - I hope an offer comes your way, too, so that your departure won't be quite so sad.
It is hard to look at my sweet DS and know that my mom considers him some sort of second class grandchild. The only time she ever stood up to the Ogre was when he told her she wasn't allowed to go to the hospital when I was in labor. She was there when DS was born, but apparently he has served his purpose and now she is on to better things, like those toddlers.

I just spoke to her. DS called her, but then she asked to speak to me. The oncologist changed her treatment plan. The swelling in her arm combined with the numbness and tingling (neuropathy) made him decide to stop the infusions she is having and just do one final "mega dose" of another drug the week after Thanksgiving. And I just said "Oh, really?" I am not thrilled with the term "mega dose" as it relates to chemo, but I didn't say that.
She isn't 100% sure they are coming down next week. It depends how she feels, and it depends on the weather. She missed 3 days of work this week. She said Ms. Selfish's in-laws are doing their big dinner on the weekend instead of on Thursday, so that makes me think we might not see her at all, even if she does drive down. So whatever.

Since we didn't have dinner I put on my lounge pants and got into bed. DH gave DS some Spaghettios. But then DH came charging into the bedroom, ranting and raving about how since I was in bed DS would have to put himself to bed. He tells DS REALLY LOUD to brush his teeth and not stay up too late, because Mommy is already in BED! So I got back up. Stupid DH doesn't bother to plan anything for dinner AND he insinuates that I am not supposed to go to bed until I make sure DS brushes his teeth. Nice. When I work late on the weekends DS is able to police himself, but if I am home then it is apparently my duty to sit here until after DS goes to bed. I was already in a bad mood. Now I am in a worse mood.

Sending more PD and hugs to you. Hopefully today will be a better day.

My Dad told me he wants a new artificial tree, since some of the lights on his are out. We would normally get one from a vendor at the market center, but it's too late now. I guess I'll change my plans to stay at home and hit Target, Garden Ridge, Michael's and maybe Dillards. I'm first going to surf and see how quickly I can get a nice one on-line. I'm not doing much else, as it really hurts to move my arm/shoulder.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Good morning. :)

We were awakened by the smoke alarm blaring at 7:10 AM! I went around and checked and everything is fine. I guess I should be thankful that it waited until dawn to be annoying.

I'm glad nothing was on fire!

Good morning...

Elizabeth- Hang in there. 's

Tammi- :scared1: I am glad it was no more than an annoying wake up call.

I managed to watch about 10 minutes of Kit before I passed out at 7:50ish! I know Emma was the only one to watch it to the end (she felt the need to wake me when it was over to tell me that it was over  ) but I don't know what time Mo zonked out.

I managed to sleep soundly til about 3am. But I think 8pm to 3am is a lot more than I have gotten lately so I'm not complaining.

Emma and I have a few errands to run before I drop her off for her play date. I need to get showered and out the door by 9ish.

Have a great day.

I hope your thumb isn't too sore today, Robyn!! :wizard:

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh! :teeth:

Yeah, well, the booger was better than the cockroach she tried to hand me a few months back.

Oh, quick question first...Has anyone ever heard of a fundraiser called flamingo wars? If so, have your participated and how did it work?

No clue. Have fun at the craft fair today!!

I woke up at 6:30 AM. This is supposed to be my sleeping day! So I stayed in bed until 8:30, but I wasn't really sleeping. I need to do laundry. I guess I should do some general cleaning in case by some miracle Mom and Diva do manage to work us in next week.
I suspect what will happen is this:
Mom will drive down Wednesday and stay with Ms. Selfish. On Thursday Ms. Selfish will whine and Mom will end up cooking a big Thanksgiving dinner for Ms. Selfish. On Friday Mom will watch the kids all day. On Saturday Ms. Selfish will insist that Mom goes to her in-laws for their big dinner, and on Sunday Mom will go home.

Marci - My beautiful, pre-lit, musical tree is from Dillard's. I think it was about $300. Not that I will ever have a tree again because of Arabella.
I hope your shoulder feels better! I kow the cold weather isn't helping.

Gosh Tammi-you certainly know how to start a Saturday!!;)

Tia-have fun at the craft fair....I've never heard of a flamingo fundraiser.

Elin-I am sorry about the job at Princeton Review...that just means the perfect job is still out there waiting for her:wizard:

Elizabeth-your day doesn't sound like it sounded much better than Tammi's.

Marci-good luck in your endeavors today!!

I've sent out about 6 resumes this morning. I forgot to tell you all the Miss Tattle tales assistant's "proposal" has been told "thanks, but no thanks" and Little Miss Sunshine that didn't really know what I've been through is going to be working a few extra hours a week to be the stop gap at my job until they find a replacement. She now knows enough of how long it's been and why to know she doesn't ever want to be stuck at that job long term. Her girls come into my office all the time....I call them my favorite girls other than mine. One even was dressed exactly like Cassidy for youth Sunday and not even on purpose.

 That is TERRIFIC Emma!

I'm so sorry. All I could think of was blood and flesh and was glad I didn't actually see it. It must be very sore today. Try to take it easy.

Tammi :scared1: That would certainly put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I hate scares like that. We had that happen in the middle of the night a few years back. Our kids didn't even wake up :sad2:

We went to bowling then off to shop for workboots for Chris. He has to buy them at a certain store to use his $100 credit from work. Of course the did not have a singe work boot that was wide enough for his foot. He must have tried on 50 pr. The kids were so bored. We finally found a pair of blue hiking boots that are steel toed and insulated and he took those even though they are ugly. I swear if we had found a pair of fuzzy bunny slipper with a steel toe he would have took those in the end :sad2: I intend to do some research and see what is out there that will fit his foot then write up a little proprosal to his employer. I can't see why they would really care where he gets them since it will cost them the same either way.
