Good Morning DDA!
I just got back from voting. What a mad house!
I arrived 15 mins. before the polls even opened and was number 55 in line.
At least they divide into several different wards, so I was only in the actual line for about 15 mins.
Talk about disorganized! Yeesh! I am glad that I am not a poll worker today! I am sure that they will get plenty of complaints!
I told myself the same thing-i did my part by voting, but i cant change what happens either way!I've resigned myself to let it go. It's out of my hands so why freak out over it.

Im off for some last minute shopping---Colorado is too close!
not long at all, Terry! How is Stephanie feeling today?? We need her healthy for your trip!![]()
Yesterday she looked like death warmed over but she sounded better when I talked to her this morning.
Yeah, she needs to be able to run with all we are doing this trip!!!! One Mouse Fest event after another.![]()
I hope she can do a lot of resting between now and then since the budget is done!
She has been in such a better mood since that was accomplished!!!!

We only had a 20 minute wait to vote! My vote at 8:25 a.m. was #417. I remember times when our entire polling place had less than 500 votes at the end of the day! I believe at the last presidential election there were about 800 votes, so this will be very good to see.
We had enough time for me to take Kristin out to breakfast and the best part of it was that she picked up the tab!![]()
I'm glad that you got things worked out for the troop, Robyn. Sounds like it's going to be for the best for all of your girls. Can't wait to see pictures of your new rooms!
I thought of that first off...and then decided against it. We don't need to have a fundraising effort to get Elizabeth out of jail.![]()
I agree on EVERYTHING you just said.I voted at 10:45, no wait. Less than 10 minutes from parking to driving awayVery quick. I still can't fathum how a country with millions of people eligible to be president came up with those 2 candidates
I hope the next election has better choices. I also hope that whoever wins this one surprises the hell out of me and turn our country around. We used to be a world power financially, militarily and politically, but that certainly isn't true these days
Enough said.

Now I blame the instructor for enabling Shallow Mom's behavior. If I were the instructor that certainly would NOT have been the case. They made turkey divan, pop-overs, and baked apples filled with crushed candy bars. Princess liked the pop-over, she ate some of the turkey, and after 2 bites of the apple she said she didn't like it. She told me to eat it. I took one small bite and I can see why she didn't like it. I am not a huge fan of baked apples to begin with.
Shallow Mom was in fine form today. She walked in, plopped down in a chair FAR away from everything, and stayed there for the entire class. The instructor had to do the little craft project with her DD, and her DD was completely unsupervised for all 3 cooking stations.I kind of feel sorry for the little girl. I also feel sorry for ME, because they keep putting Princess in the group with the 2 unsupervised girls.
The other mom Shallow chats with isn't quite as bad, but she's close. There are 3 moms who go around to the stations with the kids and participate like they are supposed to. The rest of the adults are nannies, babysitters, and grandmothers.

From personal experience I can tell you the outcome:
1) Instructor will humiliate ShallowMom and they won't come back.
or
2) ShallowMom will mouth of at Instructor about what a poor match for her brilliant child the class is and they won't come back.
Win-Win situation for Elizabeth and the other adults!!![]()
Do you call or email?
There is a very squirrelly dynamic in classes like this. The instructors really can't say anything to the parents who refuse to follow the rules. They just grit their teeth and deal with it. I used to teach Gymboree and it was the same thing. The instructor who was doing the craft is a college student, but the OWNER of the cooking school was there. I will say the owner looked REALLY irate the whole time, but I don't know if Shallow Mom was WHY she looked irate. It is easy for me to say I would tell her she has to supervise her child if I owned the facility, but in reality it is nearly impossible to have that conversation.Shallow Mom would immediately go badmouth the cooking school to all of her shallow friends, so it is easier to just leave her alone and mutter about her when she's not around.
I took Leighanna to school and spoke with her teacher this morning. Leighanna has tested well enough that her teacher is recommending Leighanna to start the "accelerated learning" or gifted program. (I think that is what she called it.)
Hopefully this will also help her not to be so talkative in class too. Leighanna always finishes her assignments earlier than most of the others, and gets bored and starts to act up.
I am proud of her for doing so well. I just hope that she can handle the extra work, and that she continues to do well in her studies.
