Does anyone have a link to early Black Friday ads? I just need to start planning where to send Alan that morning. I'm absolutely positive that I won't be going out this year, but Alan thinks that he will (my dad loves that kind of thing, so I'll probably send them out together, and have breakfast for them when they return). If you could post links, I'd be grateful!

Glynis-you asked for a reader's digest version of the last couple of weeks and let me see if I can try please be warned that it is probably a little off...you'll understand when I get to me:

We moved as quickly out of Chapter 13 because:

Elin's DD lost her job and while out celebrating her birthday took a face plant. Thankfully she was approached by a head hunter right before her bosses took a trip to the loony bin.

Tammi lost a friend to a very freak work accident

Becky is busy as always.

Deb-is back from what sounds like a lovely cruise....other than a 2 hour wait at T-Rex in DTD.

Robyn is being silly and painting up a storm after waiting 2 years...she's hosting a party next weekend I think.

Denise-Her DH's grandmother's are both gravely ill and she is loving her job. We like seeing her around here more often:goodvibes

Jen (blueeyes) had her first set of parent teacher conferences and survived. She is also headed this way later this week.

Jen-(bear) hasn't been posting much...but Virginia just turned 1(can you believe it??)

Jen-(Tink) has been on more often and we love seeing her signature

Marci- DS's cell phone was stolen while her car was being worked on. She is running around like always with her boys activities.

Lindsay popped on and hopes to be back posting more soon.

Elizabeth is in the midst of DS's projects and trying to fit in her jeans before it gets too cold.

Amy- can't seem to catch a break...we are hoping she gets to sleep more often.

Terry & Stephanie are getting excited for Mousefest.

Mac-has been posting!!:cool1: Mya has been approved for a Make A Wish trip. He is looking for a job...5 months and counting:hug:

Tom-created a wonderful costume AND outfit for Leighanna for Halloween. He also just got done with a stay at home week.

Tia-has been uber busy between Rachel, her neices and nephews and her new charge. We hope as she gets used to the new charge she comes around more often.

Kristen-went crazy looking for a very cute birthday cake for Christopher.

Vicki-you read about her promotion (soon to be) at work

Janet-has been plugging on. (Sorry Janet I can't remember anything else)

Meeeeee.....well last Monday I came to the realization I can not be married to Jim any longer. A fact I told him tonight (and the girls by accident too).

There is a lot of worry over the financial mess and the dumb election.

So there you have it....if I forgot anyone I am sorry and know that I didn't do it purposely.

OK, all you moms of little ones... my nephew has discovered the joys of Legos. My brother told me tonight that there are little Lego pieces all over their hardwood floors and they hurt like the devil when they step on them. ;)

Back in the day we had this round canvas play mat that the girls could put their Legos and Duplos on and when the playtime was over you could pull it all up into a sack with the drawstring that ran around the outside perimeter of the mat. Does anyone know if any company makes that kind of thing any more?

If you can't find one I bet Tom could make you a custom one :thumbsup2

Just Google Black Friday Ads. There are many sites. Once you go into them you can be added to their email list for updates. I think I am signed up with at least 3 different ones :rolleyes1

Theresa, that was an utterly amazing recap! And thank you for the sweet sentiment. I'm glad to be around more too. I miss y'all!

And Theresa, I am very proud of you for following your head and heart with such a tough decision. I can't imagine how tough this is on you, and I truly admire your strenght and tenacity. Please know I am praying for you and the girls. If there is anything I can do, let me know.

Theresa - Well, I guess it is good that you told Jim how you feel. I imagine it didn't surprise the girls much, other than hearing you say it out loud.

Tia-has been uber busy between Rachel, her neices and nephews and her new charge. We hope as she gets used to the new charge she comes around more often.

Actually, my charge is easy! She sleeps 80% of the time. It's the other stuff that's going crazy. I am done having Kaylin though, which will be helpful, since it's her that keeps me off of the computer (always wants to help me with that and ends up closing things, etc). She starts at the Early Childhood program right across the street from their house. It should be a great place for her and the convenience can't be beat. Kristi's kids will slow down some after Rachel finishes with the final weeks of the school play. Then, it will just be Terra keeping me running, but then doesn't she always.

I did get a nice surprise yesterday and Erin and Brendan gave me some money for helping with Kaylin the last couple of weeks. Since it was short term we hadn't talked that I hadn't expected they would since they are tight on money too, but it was nice to get. Definitely a helpful bonus. (Of course, Erin told me today that she as going to write me a nice card and everything to go with it, but Brendan didn't pay attention to that part and just gave it to me yesterday. ;) ).

Well, since Terra seems to have disappeared she's probably upstairs with Phil, who's probably trying to get some work done and it slightly depressed on top of that because he's got some symptoms flaring up again. So, I had better think of a distraction and go get her. I'll catch you all soon! I know I keep saying it, but trip report to come soon. I've gotta get my PhotoPass pictures finished up this week as they expire soon and Jennifer has to get the CD ordered.

I just sat down to pay bills. The furnace ended up costing us about $8500 for our half  :scared1: Now I'm wondering if that vacation was such a good idea :sad2: We'll be fine, it is just the sticker shock. The furnace should last us 20 + years so we should have very minimal oil costs over those years which means that the $3000 dollars and increasing yearly we will be so much better off down the road. We should be cost free within 3 years. A sound investment right? :confused3 I will say that our house is very toasty tonight and with temps in the 20s he didn't come any too soon.

Stephanie- I love the pictures...I wanna stay there!!

Well, tonight was emotionally and physically draining...I literally was shaking so bad I ended up sinking to the ground. I am not sure what the girls heard and didn't hear but I need to worry about that another day. I am off....need to sleep to face my work cohorts too.

Stephanie - I think perhaps you ought to go BACK to the Dr!

DS has finished his project except for the drawings. I think he has done just under half of those. It is almost impossible to think of something to draw when the words all mean the same thing. :headache: And he wants to draw with markers. There are 50ish words on there, along with a title and a sentence about why these words are important. There is very little room left for drawings, especially marker drawings that end up looking like little smudges. I told him I am finished fighting with him over it. If he gets a crummy grade then he will know it was because he wasn't careful with the drawings. The rest of it is on target for 100%, according to the grading scale.
I look forward to seeing the finished project.

Hi, everyone! Don't faint, or anything, but I'm back!

Life is slowing down somewhat and I'm ready to rejoin the human race. I know there's no way I'll ever be able to read and catch up, so I'm just jumping in here. Hopefully, some kind soul will be able to give me a Reader's Digest Condensed Version for me.

I do want to thank all of you who sent condolences either by card, or by Facebook! It has meant so much to me! I also want to thank you for the beautiful arrangement of flowers! My dad was absolutely amazed! I was so touched! The flowers came before the funeral, and I just had to sit and cry at your thoughtfulness! Dad wanted me to express his thanks, as well.

With that, I'll quietly slip into the background and try to piece together what's been happening in the last couple of weeks.
How are you doing, Glynis?

I'm going to finish watching Desparate Housewives then I'm off to bed. I need to be at school at 6:45 AM :scared: I hate mornings

I am so sorry, Stephanie.

What have you got? I spent the better part of yesterday and today in bed napping off and on. I have been ache-y and have run a low-grade fever and had a nasty headache. I am assuming either I had a bad reaction to my flu shot or I caught some little bug from one of my munchkins. I am feeling somewhat better tonight.
I hope you're able to kick whatever is creeping up on you.

When we went past Kybecca last night on the Ghost Walk I told the kids to look through the windows because there was a good chance Mrs. H. might be in there. :goodvibes ;) We walked so fast though that nobody got a good look. Our guide was in a hurry!

It's sounding like there a people getting many sets of the YOAMD ears that sent in post cards that are still sending them. I think maybe I'll send a few now that it is dwindling down to see if I can win something.

Kristine - I like your turkey.

Theresa, I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with something so difficult. You are a very strong person and will make it through this. It will make you stronger. I'm sorry that the girls might have overheard something but they need to know that you are taking care of yourself and them.
