DDA Chapter 12

My back has been out since last Thursday. Nothing new as it is my sciatic nerve, but usually it goes away within a couple of days. I have not had a good nights sleep since & I am really starting to get very cranky. I should call the Dr., but I am hoping it calms down soon on it's own.

Garrett went to a waterpark this weekend for a friends birthday & came home with a nice cut on his eye. I was not very happy that no one called me as I think it should of had stitches. His eye is a little puffy & of course black & blue. He was coming down a tube & whacked his head inside the tube. We have been using butterfly bandaids & it seems to be healing well, but I am upset that he will probably be left with a scar

I did get away for a little while with a friend Sunday & we had a good time. It was nice having just some girl time.

Today is Gary's birthday, but we probably will not do anything till this weekend. Tomorrow is large trash pick up & we have a lot to put out tonight. Besides all the the stuff from the kitchen we have stuff from the boys room to get out. We are pulling up their carpet & getting rid of their beds. Redoing the boys room was not in our plans yet, but it is something that needs to be done. So for now they will get new flooring & futon beds.

We are going down to NC in mid October to house hunt. I found a few I like on line but we have to check out the neighborhoods & schools.

I'm impressed, Elin, that caffeine really does keep you up. I know it's supposed to, but it's never had that effect on me... i have always been able to drink a mountain dew (if I so choose) and fall right to sleep And I don't drink much of it! (No coffee, etc)

I'm so glad you got more sleep last night, and are feeling better this morning! Disney is so close!

Really?!? Then why do I have my boss and her husband with the DJ and her wife? I have one couple from church that doesn't "fit" with the rest of the friends from church because all the tables have 8 - so they are at a table where they know no one too. Luckly the Pastor and his wife can fit just about anywhere...and then you have the "family-members-that-may-or-may-not-show" and you can't put all them at one table because it'll look weird with no one sitting there AND you have to be careful who else you put there with them because if the family doesn't show, would you really want to be the only 2 at a table for 8?

Happy Anniversary, Bernadette! If DH forgot then this would be a good time to mention that you want a dSLR. Guilt can work to your advantage! (Then you can ask for lenses on your birthday.)

Good luck with that! I meant to go dig through DS's binder to see if I could find the lab paper but I forgot. He did the extra credit so hopefully that will help.

Princess and I are going to Target today. I was going to go anyway, which is good, because DH broke the carafe for our coffee maker last night. We have a spare coffee maker, but it only makes 10 cups and you can't program it to turn on at a certain time. It also doesn't turn itself off, so the coffee was pretty much boiling when I got up.

OK. Off to deal with DS. He is moving slower than normal today.

See, the seating chart - with all it's drama, and puzzles and quirks - was hands down my FAVORITE part of wedding planning. It took days (weeks?), but I found it SO exhilarating to put the pieces together! Sorry you aren't enjoying it.

Leighanna received her interim report.

Apparently Elizabeth doesn't have the only child who can't turn in their work!

Leighanna got all A+ in every subject but written composition. In that she got an F.

We found her work in a pile of papers and sent it in. Hopefully the teacher will end up giving her credit for it.

I hope she'll get credit for it.

Jake's soccer team lost 4 - 0 last night, but they kept the ball on their end of the field most of the night. We just couldn't get it in the goal...

We have dentist after school today, and the dentist has been warning us that they both are going to need braces soon... hopefully we don't find out today they both need them at the same time. We'll also try to make my nephew's football game. Have a great day everyone!

The only caffiene bothered me was when I was pregnant. My grandmother lectured me to death though that I wouldn't be able to sleep if I had it close to bed time. I could drink 2 pots of coffee and go right to sleep.

Jennifer, I loved the latest blog entry!! When Emma and my niece were babies someone asked if they were twins. Emma and Alyssa are 3 months apart and Emma is white and Alyssa is black. Clearly they were NOT twins!

I am starting to get the itch to re-do DS's room, but for now I think I will settle for clearing out all the clutter.

Yay, Lucy! Princess had a stack of books on her head yesterday and told me it was a hat. I told her "My compliments from me to you on this your most intriguing hat, consider though, this substitute, a bat in place of this old rat!" She had no idea what I was talking about but she laughed and laughed.

Marci - Good luck at the dentist today! And really, braces are not as much of an emergency as they will tell you. We waited 2.5 years after our first consult to get DS's braces. I would imagine you can do one child at a time.

Chanon - I hope Jimmy behaves for you today! We did have a buffet, so people just seated themselves. We also didn't have that many people at our wedding so there wouldn't have been very many combinations!

Poor Garrett-but stitches doesn't mean there wouldn't be a scar...I've got 1 scar on each of my eyes that both had stitches.

People are stupid.
At one of my previous jobs I had 2 charges. We had a triple stroller because DS and my charges were pretty close in age - DS was 3.5, one charge was 3 and the other charge was 1. People asked me ALL THE TIME if they were triplets. Um, no. Only 2 of them are related, and NONE of them are the same age! Of course DS is small and those charges were big old Hulk children, and the stroller made it a little difficult to see exactly what size each one was, but still. DS didn't look like the other boys, either.

Good morning DDA!! Abi is home sick again today...one of my volunteer/friends has a theory and I think it may be holding true. She believes Abi may be getting awful tummy aches because she's starting to cycle. My baby is growing up and I don't wanna!!

Elizabeth -- I hope you're right, but the dentist mentioned last time that each child has a different kind of problem, that have to be corrected at certain times, with Jake's being more time-sensitive -- ie waiting would make the "fix" more difficult and longer. As much as I don't want to pay for both at the same time, there is something to be said for dentist appts. together, I guess. I also want Andrew's finished, if at all possible, sooner rather than later. He is quiet enough with his verbal expressive problem without adding braces. Right now, there are several in his class with them, so he won't stick out as much. However, the price tag scares me! We're still trying to build up reserves from when Randy was jobless. We'll see...
