Debbie
how cute

Hooray for DS!!!!! Tell him how proud we all are of him.

With us it's been a roller coaster ride so far. Jacob and the twins are having a ball, but Katie will have a good day, then a bad day, then a good day, etc. It all depends on how much math homework she has. The stupid thing is that she knows how to do the math, but talks herself out of it, and then nothing that Alan or I can do will help her. She just closes off. I told her yesterday that if she needs math help, she needs to ask one of the 5 friends in her class that live in our neighborhood! They might have more patience for her "mood swings" than I do!

DS had a good week because they didn't do anything! The mood swings will be coming soon. And they will probably be related to math. DS's math is already too hard for me. I might sort of recognize the concepts, but I can't remember how to solve the problems. 7th grade was where I really started to crash and burn with math, so if DH can't help him we will have to get a tutor.

Debbie - DH says your company doesn't want to be looted. :sad2: Tacky boy.
I hope you guys don't have any damage. We are on alert to take evacuees (I think they said 4000?) from whatever area does get hit.

I'm sure my hospital is as well. If it heads toward Texas

Not to put too fine a point on my political views, but can someone please explain to me how the talking head news guys think voters will flock to Palin because she is a GIRL? Yes, Hillary is a girl and not in the running anymore, but they are polar opposites on issues! Are Americans really so overwhelmingly stupid that they think all girls are interchangeable? Are there really voters who will vote for Palin based exclusively on gender?
I hadn't heard anything about it until I read your post. Who the heck is Palin? They are really going to need to promote her before November if they have any hope of winning.

Welcome to the hormone years! :grouphug:

Boy oh boy do I have you all fooled! :rotfl2: I can be a very hard nosed (I wanted to put another word in here but the DIS only printed *****) business woman. I voted to discontinue payment of those honoraria without regret.

I am glad the caring side of me shows up on here! :goodvibes
Not me. ;) :rotfl2:

Is Katie 10 by any chance, that is the age I wanted send my girls back, they were obnoxious!

She just turned 11 in July, so technically, I guess they're about the same age. And you are right, there are days I want to give her back!

That is so cool, Debbie. She will be thrilled! Thank you!

Well, I have 15 minutes to make a decision. Alan is filming a high school football game, and wants me to go with him. I don't enjoy football, but it would be time away from my house. I can take a book, and just enjoy the nice weather, and if it gets chilly once the sun goes down, I can sit in the car. Otherwise, I have to stay home with the kids.

What to do? What to do? I'm seriously asking for input, no sarcasm! (I mean, I'm not being sarcastic about my choices. Feel free to be as sarcastic as you want.)

I thought you were going to drop him off and go to the bookstore and finish that book you started reading last week.

Hi All!

Belated Birthday wishes to Riley, Brandon, Lindsay & Janet.

We had a nice trip despite the crowds, rains, and construction at our resort. We LOVED the family suites! I wish they would add some to Pop as I definately prefer that resort. More about the trip and suites after I get caught up.

I'll post the picture real quick before we head out to "Apricot" this morning.

Elizabeth's DH isn't in the pictures although he was there.
Great photo-thanks for posting! I think yours is better than mine. Would you mind emailing it to me? Wasn't that CM a great sport to take all those photos on all those different cameras?

So I felt compelled to put together a then and now picture of DH and myself, I would say before and after but I have a looonnngg way to go to reach after, DH is already there.

You look awesome! You should be very proud of yourself!

Be VERY careful with those stupid blue bags from WDW. The blue rubs off of the bags. Depending on what it rubs on, it can be permanent. My fingernails were all blue one day. DS bought the set of MK rubber ducks - all 7 designs. He had them in his backpack. Something else in one of those blue bags was in his pack as well, and the blue from the bag ruined his Splash Mtn. duck. I need to find the receipt for it, then Disney merchandising and I are going to have a little chat. He wasn't carrying the pack around the parks so it wasn't because the bag got hot. His backpack stayed in the hotel room.
I had a problem with a bag too. The blue got on Joe's Wall E T that I made him. If it doesn't come out in the wash I'm going to have to make him a new one.

Thank you so much Bernadette! :goodvibes
You ar very welcome! Sorry it too so long to get them in the mail.

The faces aren't supposed to be different. You use your IMAGINATION. ;)
:lmao:

So i am starting to look for childrens books..i should have thought of this earlier in the summer for yard sales and stuff ,but it just hit me that i want to have books for a library when i eventually hvae a classroom...does anyone know of any good sites to get books that arent tooo expensive?
I have had good luck with www.bookcloseouts.com

Here's our label for our welcome boxes. Hopefully its the final draft!

That is great!!!

I also saw Bernadette one day at The Land, but she was talking on her cell, so I didn't stop to say hi.
I wish you would have stopped. I assume I was alone? I ran ahead to get fast passes for Soarin and DH took the kids on Spaceship Earth and they got stuck for 20 minutes or so on it.

does anyone know what kind of ID I should take for Virginia? When we flew in 06 I did not have ID for Olivia but she was old enough she could tell them her name if she chose to. I checked the TSA sight but did not see anything on their.
I would take a birth certificate for her as I too have heard that SW is very stricted about lap babies.

Since all kiddos are back in school (they are right??) it's time to think about Christmas;)

It's the 3rd annual DDA Ornament Exchange!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

How cute is he? They look so huge on him and so small to me.

Deb - Sorry you had such lousy tippers. I don't even stiff my server if I get poor service, I do reduce the amount I give. I told DH we need to get jobs as servers in Disney, for the group dinner at Cape May the tip was automatically added in because we were such a large group. We were on the DDP so along with our card we gave her the tip in cash, when we checked out I discovered that she had charged the tip to our room, so for a bill of $54, she got a tip that was more than $20. I made sure I told our server what we were doing after that.
That stinks! Elizabeth and I were talking about it at CP-we wondered how many people tipped twice now that they add it when you use DDE. I had lousy service at Tusker House and was annoyed when the server didn't me a "binder" with my bill but rather folded up my copy and just gave me the copy to sign. I really think he thought I wouldn't notice that the tip was included if I didn't look at the details.:headache:

So, do you want to hear the latest in hurricane panic? I work in retail, and the company I work for took a big hit from Katrina. So they have decided that they are going into the stores that are in the danger zones and ship out a large portion of the inventory. So tomorrow morning there will be 8 trailers, and 30 or more workers from out of area stores there to start packing and shipping. Talk about a mess . . . . . ...

Gas has gone up .26 a gallon since yesterday morning and I'm sure it will continue to climb

The governor called again today, telling everyone to start preparing now.

Gustav has taken a more westerly turn, but it is way too soon to tell.
:scared1: YIKES. So even if it doesn't hit you'll have to deal with the mess. Hope it does change paths and you stay safe!!!

I hadn't heard anything about it until I read your post. Who the heck is Palin? They are really going to need to promote her before November if they have any hope of winning.

It was kind of funny. Princess and I met some friends for breakfast and the TV in the diner had a news station on saying they thought she MIGHT be the one. By the time we finished eating and got in the car the radio was saying she was DEFINITELY the one. By naptime she had given a speech and the talking heads were yammering on about her.

I would love to know the details on her domestic employees. Who is their nanny? What is she like?

Whne I saw the sound bite from her speech the first thing that popped into my mind was that she makes me think of an anchor on a show like Good Morning, America. Then I read she was a communications major. There you have it! She is fascinating, but for me, she is not fascinating in a presidential way. She is fascinating in the way all nanny employers are fascinating, present employer excluded. My present employer is delightful, which makes her the exception.
