DDA Chapter 10

Virginia had her 9 month check up today. she weighs 17lbs 12oz and is 28 1/2 inches tall.

Sounds good! Where does that put her for percentiles?

He showed me on the graph but did not day the numbers so not sure.:confused3

I can't believe she is 9months. Lucy weighed in at 18lbs 9oz and 29 1/2" at her year check up. The weight puts her into the 13%. Her height is the 62% but they measured her wrong (our office is notorious for screwing up heights) She is only about 28" there was a huge gap between her head and the top of the measuring board.

Check out this site for percentiles.

To those that asked if the employee followed procedure, no :sad2: We are suppose to ask for ID & then put their birth date in the machine that verifies their age. She did ask for ID, but he said he left it outside in his vehicle. Instead of saying "I need you to get that", she just asked for his date of birth. No matter what age someone looks like, if we ask for ID & they do not have it, they do not get served. Had she followed procedure, this would not have happened.
It's truly something so simple, I don't know why people don't adhere to it. Everyone knows you get carded when buying alcohol. If someone 'forgets' their ID that is a tell-tale sign that they are either 1. not old enough or 2. part of an alcohol sting. Sorry you have to deal with this, Janet.

Gary has to work Saturday, so he will not be going to the games this weekend. I am really bummed because I was not looking forward to the drive. They just reopened some of the roads from the flooding, but they are now filled with gravel. I am hearing from those that have traveled on it, that it is single lane & the water is on the edge on both sides.

Riley made me feel like a horrible person yesterday when I mentioned not going & him riding with others. I have this phobia about driving in unfamiliar places, but I will suck it up & go. I really would feel bad not seeing him play. So I will cancel Friday nights hotel reservation & we will just stay Saturday night. I really do hope the roads are better than I am hearing & pray for no rain!
:wizard: good roads and dry weather!

Tammi- I am so relieved that your mammo came back fine.

Janet- :wizard: for a safe and easy drive for you this weekend. I am sorry work is exploding around you right before vacation.

Theresa- :wizard: for the interview.

I know I read more but my brain is all muddy. Emma went back to the doctors yesterday. The first infection is gone but she now has swimmer's ear from all the excess fluid. She has been up the past few nights crying in pain which then wakes up Molly and it's been a circus trying to get them back to bed.

And then all the daycare kiddos are back from vacation. Yesterday we had numerous tears and lots of attitude that I am so not in the mood for. :headache: I am so hoping today is better.

There isn't much else going on that's too exciting. I have to make a Little Einsteins Rocket cake and cupcakes for my girlfriend's daughter's birthday party Saturday. We also have our Godson's party Saturday as well. Sunday we were planning on taking the girls to the beach but I am thinking that we will have to put that off with Emma's ear. We may head to DC with just Emma and spend the day there.

I am going to sign off and make up some icing. Have a great day.

Poor Emma. I hope she has some antibiotics that take the pain away soon. :wizard: for a much better day today.

Since Gary can't go, I am hoping that your weather will be wonderful and that the roads are smooth and easy to manage, Janet. You can do it!! :goodvibes

Robyn - I am sorry to hear that Emma is sitll in pain. I hope her swimmer's ear clears up very soon and that your girls settle themselves down to a more likeable behavior pattern... ;)

Happy Birthday Chanon! :bday:

Enjoy the last 12 minutes of your day! :goodvibes

Did you have cake?

Are you crazy?! I'm having cake for breakfast too! :rotfl: (OK, so it's an ice cream cake and I'm only eating the vanilla part...)

No haven't heard that..(another cost cutting measure????:confused3 ) Well I hope they don't do it before we got to Le Cellier in August!:sad1:

Apparently it is still in the "rumor" stage, but I would really like to know WHY the rumor is circulating!

Please don't start singing that, Elizabeth!:rotfl2:

I sing that ALL the time. It drives DS (and even Princess) nuts! :rotfl2:
"We're goin' on a trip, we're goin' on a trip, it's thrilling to be filling with such wild anticipation! Packing the suitcases, and counting off the days-es, almost as exciting as the actual vacation!" It's a fabulous song!

Tammi I am so glad to hear all is well with your mammo :thumbsup2

Elizabeth love your new theme song :rotfl:

Heidi hope your finger feels better today :wizard:

Bummer. I can remember HATING to ask for ID when I sold cigarettes. I worked part time at a grocery store (the store where I met DH!) and that was always hard for me. I feel bad for her. :guilty:
I hope your drive is OK this weekend! :wizard:

Oh, I don't know. The last time I bought alcohol I asked the guy if he wanted to see my ID and he LAUGHED! :rotfl2:

Poor Emma. I hope she has some antibiotics that take the pain away soon. :wizard: for a much better day today.

Robyn, lots of good wishes for Emma! :wizard: Tell those daycare kids to shape up! Vacation's over! ;)

Are you crazy?! I'm having cake for breakfast too! :rotfl: (OK, so it's an ice cream cake and I'm only eating the vanilla part...)

Mmmm. Cake! :)

I make them out of felt. They are large and on the front I put the child's name and a Christmas picture. My mom started the tradition and my sister and I have continued it. I'll look through my Christmas pictures and see if I can find a shot of them.

They sound cute! I hope this Christmas (or when you work on Peanuts!) we get to see them! don't go to any trouble before that, of digging them out... it will be here before we know it! :goodvibes

This is my new theme song. But copy and paste is not working. This might take a minute.

OK. NOW it is working. :)

I'm glad all is ok

Do any of you listen to the Podcast? There is a thread on that forum talking about WDW taking filet mignon off of the menus. A couple people have asked for the back story, but none of the posts really answer them. Does anybody know what's going on? :confused3

That would be downright devastating! :scared1: It better just be a rumor, but most things discussed on the DIS turn out to be true :(

I am such a gadget geek that I got them all. I have to admit I own a few of them.

I got 10/12, shockingly!

I know I read more but my brain is all muddy. Emma went back to the doctors yesterday. The first infection is gone but she now has swimmer's ear from all the excess fluid. She has been up the past few nights crying in pain which then wakes up Molly and it's been a circus trying to get them back to bed.

Poor Emma! I hope she is feeling better quickly!

Elin - I like your new tickers! :thumbsup2

So it seems my Disney nightmares have stopped, but now I am having nightmares about the DDA kids! :scared1:

The night before last night I dreamed I was at Bernadette's. Emma threw up on the rug, so I asked Lizzy (whose name was Anna in the dream) to go get me something to clean it up with. She brought me paper towels and Windex. Bernadette was in the kitchen making dinner, so I went to see if she had any carpet cleaner. I needed to hurry, because I had sent Princess home with some friend of mine that my bosses had never met. I was hoping to get back to the house before they came home so they wouldn't know I had been gone all afternoon. It was VERY strange!

Last night I had a dream about Deb's boys! I was babysitting. I got REALLY involved in some movie and I forgot to put them to bed. When I finally looked over, all 3 were asleep in their chairs. I grabbed Colby and took him back to his room. He was a baby, not a kid. As I was putting him in the crib his foot got all tangled in the mobile. (I was untangling a cat toy before bed last night, so there must be some connection there.) I had to hold him with one arm and try to untangle his foot with the other, and all the while I was worried that Deb and Chris would come in and find Hunter and Nick asleep in their chairs.

But at least I'm not dreaming about forgetting my pins! :cool1:

Thanks. I can deal with the whining although I'd prefer not too but the middle of the night wake up calls are pushing me over the edge. The other night Molly came in to tell me, in her best authoritative voice, that I "must wake up and take care of Emma as she is hurting and crying."

There's some good stuff in ice cream cake! :rolleyes1

Mmmmm, them little chocolate crunchies are my favorite!

Apparently it is still in the "rumor" stage, but I would really like to know WHY the rumor is circulating!

You're theme song is cute!! I love it when I can find stuff to annoy the kiddos with :rotfl:

Thanks!! 2 of them specifically are on thin ice.

Poor Emma! I hope she is feeling better quickly!

One of the actors on my soap just named his baby boy Peanut. I think it's a great nickname but as for an actual name I think it's kind of out there. I just hope Glynis and Alan are much more level headed in naming their Peanut!! :goodvibes

Thanks Jennifer.

Remind me not to let you babysit my kids in your dreams!! Too funny.

:rotfl: I personally never got into the peanut, bean, etc nicknames while pregnant ... but certainly they are cute, and much better than if they were actual names! Although, we've all heard worse, I'm sure! :teeth:
