We were at the beach last weekend and did so much walking that DD9 was in pain. We forgot her sneakers but even those one time she was in NY City with her uncle and those were hurting her too. I have the Teva Tirra and my foot pain is gone!! I wear them allll day and night. I got her a woman's size 7 and they seem to fit really well. I had to bribe her to wear them though, she didn't want the Tevas. Anyone else have the Tirra's for their kids??
Here's what they look like http://www.footsmart.com/P-Teva-Womens-Tirra-Sandals-72297.aspx

My dd started with walking problems at 9 and it has been a real issue on trips. I try everything and a lot I think is her legs. She was a tip toer.....still is.

I finally bought these last week at an outlet, for that toning type of flip flop and she liked it. The first wearing she was raw with a high instep under the strap, but the thin mole skin took care of that.

The heal impact and leg pain did not happen. I know we looked at the ones you mention and dd was against it, also against all the Crocs I had her in. SHe also has Sketchers, plaid beige comfort padded pair that help too....

There were $54.

I'm sorry your daughter also has foot problems:grouphug:
Those flip flops you got look very comfortable! The only reason I didn't go with a good flip flop like that is with the tevas she can still wear them with socks to school. Best of luck to your DD.

My middle dd12 has foot problems as well and she wears some Teva sport sandals (forget the name). She likes them and has not once complained of pain. Shoot, she tries to steal my pair. I also have foot problems but the Tevas don't cause me problems. I like how they have the arches in them and are not just flat. My youngest even wears the Teva sport sandals.

You lucked out, in '03 we were in Prague, Vienna and Budapest. DH's feet hurt so bad we bought a pair of Teva's over there. I think they were about $90 (USD)! :scared1:

But, they are still going strong... so I guess we got our money's worth! :thumbsup2

I had to clean out my shoe space last night. I know I own at least 4 pairs of Teva sandles and most of them are at least 3 years old or older.

I love them. I would love to get other pairs but since the other look so good I don't feel that I can.

I guess I'm the opposite - my Teva's HURT my legs/hips! But so do my Crocs, so maybe I'm just designed different! :)

Kids need good tennis shoes with lots of support.
Flip flops and sandles just don't cut it. I don't care how pricey the sandles and flip flops are - they are not the same as a good pair of tennis shoes for support.

Kids, especially when they are at school or running around playing on a playground, need tennis shoes for comfort and safety.
