Last year on DD6's birthday (a year ago yesterday) I took her to Build-A-Bear, where DD created a wonderful friend named Jordan. She had a soundbox put in Jordan's paw, so that Jordan could sing the BAB birthday song. Jordan sang her song many, many, many times, until she finally lost her voice.
DD told her Grandmommy (my MIL) that for her birthday this year, she wanted Jordan to be able to sing again.
I'm happy to report that Jordan underwent a successful soundbox-ectomy this afternoon. The surgical staff at our local BAB did a wonderful job of unstitching her, replacing the soundbox, and repairing the incision. So now Jordan can, again, sing in her inimitable (low, masculine) voice, "I'm the birthday bear, I'm the birthday bear, Happy birthday -- to yoooou!"
