Hi all,

Background: DD and fiance (both 22) will graduate from colleges next month. They have been engaged since Val Day! They would like to get married this year, but finding a date to get married is difficult. DD is here in MN and fiancee is at Kentucky till end of May.

Fiance starts his training at Pensacola as a strike navigator June 19.

Any tips or suggestions for DD? She is excited to be moving (eventually) to Fl, but really nervous about the whole military experience.

Hi - My husband retired from the AF after 23 years. Tell her to strap on the seat belt and enjoy the ride - it goes by fast. She should take advantage of every assignment. Some will be more exciting than others but all will/can be interesting. They will make many friends along the way and they become a substitue family.

Our parents (once they got used to the idea) liked us moving because they got to visit places they might not have other wise.

Again just tell her to enjoy the ride!!!

My husband is a F15E pilot in the Air Force and many of our friends fly in his back seat (WSO- weapons system officer). Most of my friends really enjoyed their time in Pensacola. I've found that it (fighter pilot community) is a really close knit community and the wives really stick together. My husband is deploying next month but you really feel a kinship with the other wives since we're all in the same boat. Tell your DD to enjoy the time she has with her fiancee/husband and the memories will keep her going when she needs them:) I lived at home all the way through college and the best thing for my young marriage was when we had to depend solely on each other when we moved away to pilot training. Congratulations!!

There is no greater honor than serving this great country of ours. I can't wait to have grandchildren to share my experiences with. My wife has been by my side through thick and thin for my 18+ year career and I couldn't have done it without her. "Behind a strong man is an even stronger woman"

I have been a pround Navy wife for almost 10 yrs now. Good luck to your DD I think she will have a blast. I was nervous too when I first got married, I had never lived away from home and was going to be moving all the way across country for Dh's first assignment. Took a little getting used to, but I had great support from the other wives I met and that really helps alot. Now I really enjoy moving every three years. In fact I think it is going to be a littel hard on us both when Dh retires in 7 yrs and we have to stay put in one place, haha....

Navy Wife, toughest job in the Navy!!!!!!
