DD wants to be spectromagic butterfly for Halloween

Can anyone give me ideas on how to make this a halloweencostume? I guess I'd buy the wings and try to attach battery operated lights. Is the bodysuit black with sparkles?

No help here, but sounds like quite a project! Love to see a picture when it's done! .....P (Maybe check Michael's craft store for some bat.op. lights.... they may have nice tiny ones like the ones for a holiday village)..........P

If I were going to make it I would buy the glow necklaces and whip stich them around the wings. It wouldn't take long to sew them on and the expense would be much less then buying LED lights to sew on the costume. You'd have about 8 hours for the glow sticks to be lit up. That should be plenty of time to finish trick or treating. For additional lights they sell all kinds of light up bracelets, earrings, necklaces etc that could light up other areas of her body.

Keep us posted as to what you try. My dd has a cute butterfly costume from last year. I'd love to try something like this for her. We're going to MNSSHP next week, but the kids can't settle on their costumes!

Yes, I had thought about the glow necklaces yesterday. I guess I would have to sew them on right before she goes out. We are going to look for wings this week.
