DD Trying Out For H.S. Cheerleading For The Next 3 Days

I'm so excited for her, and at the same time so nervous! I hope she makes the squad, its something she has really been looking forward to . . .

She has done cheerleading for Pop Warner Football in town and has always wanted to try out for high school. I know it'll probably be hard because she'll only be an incoming Freshman in September, but hopefully they'll see her determination and winning smile.

We should know by Wednesday night if she made the squad.

I know how you feel as we went through this last year. DD just missed making her middle school team twice and was discouraged, yet wanted to try out again. When the squad was first announced, she hadn't made it. So dissapointing for her A few days later the coach called and said that one of the girls couldn't be on it after all and DD was next in line. She was thrilled! Although she had fun during the season, some of the girls were so cliquey and snotty, it turned out to be a mixed blessing. We'll see what happens next year. My oldest DD (11 1/2) cheers for an AllStar team and absolutely loves every minute of it.

What cheerleaders do today is amazing.

I didn't realize there were so many cheer moms here.

My DD (turned 8 in February) was on a competitive All-Star team last year and they are getting ready to have tryouts again this week. A 3-day cheer clinic and tryouts on Friday.
