DD Sian's Prom

It was the long awaited Year 11 Prom for Sian tonight.

After an afternoon of pampering - nails, hair, make-up - it was off to Sian's friend, Tierney's, house where her, Tierney and their friend Emily and all the assorted family and friends gathered together before waving them off in their horse-drawn carriage at 7 o'clock.

I know I'm biased but they all looked lovely. A few years ago I would have never thought that I would get to see my beautiful daughter heading off to her prom but I'm so pleased I have and I hope she is having a fantastic time

It's no joke, Jackie - I am absolutely shattered and would normally be in bed by now. We have no idea what time she's coming home as Tierney's Mum is picking them up and nobody seemed to know what time it was finishing. I so badly want to go to bed but I know she'll be really disappointed if I'm not up when she gets home so I am trying to entertain myself here on the DIS and on FB trying to stay awake.

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments. Sian got in quite early in the end, about 11:20. There was an after-prom camp-out but, being the Bad Mother I am I had told her she couldn't go - good job anyway as she was that tired, I don't think she'd have been much good to anybody today if she'd spent the night in a wet, muddy field

She had a fabulous time and was buzzing when she got in (although the amount of Pimms she downed at Tierney's before they left may have contributed to that )

I'm sure, when she finally surfaces, she'll be along to tell you all about it
