Has anyone gone to Rainforest Grill without PS? We want to go there on our first night for dinner. We arrive at LAX at 3:30 p.m., need to pick up our rental car and then drive to PP. I'm hesitant to make reservations because I don't know how traffic will be, or the plane may be delayed, etc.... Would you still make reservations or just take the chance? We're a family of 4 (DD 6, DS 2).

Thanks!

Yes, make the reservations!

I was there last week and every night there was a huge walk-in line. By the time you got to the front of the line, they were then telling people the wait was an hour. We ended up at ESPN Zone next door with about 15 min. wait.

Finally did late lunch at Rainforest a few days later. There was no line for walk-ins and the wait was about 20 mins. I think.

If you're arriving at 3:30, I'd probably make 7:00 or 7:30 reservations. That should probably give you enough time if there's extra traffic or delays. We arrived 10:45 am, got luggage, got rental car and then got to the PPH by 12:30. We were checked in and settled by 1:00 pm.

Yes, make reservations. There's usually a long line for dinner. As Moko wrote, you should be able to make a 7 or 7:30 if your plane arrives at 3:30

Definately make reservations. I just called 3 days ago to make mine for the first week of June and they told me it was a really great idea that I had done so. They said the wait can get long and its true. I had to wait about an hour the last time I went and it was a reservation for 9:30 at night for 2 people

Another vote for a reservation. If you arrive early for your reservation, they may be willing to accomodate you early. If your plane is significantly delayed, they still may be understanding and honor your reservation. Either way, you have nothing to lose. I agree with moko, 7 or 7:30 should give you enough time to get checked in and over to DTD; I'd probably go for 7:30, especially on a weekday when there will be more traffic.

I could be totally wrong. :) But I thought I read that if you joined their "safari club", that you can get priority seating.

Ah yes, found their site, http://www.rainforestcafe.com, and it does say that's part of the deal, though they add "based on availability". It fully says:

Members only seating privileges seven days a week, for parties of six or less. Priority Seating on a walk-in basis ensures you quick attention and a table as soon as possible.

So that could be another idea for ya!

I vote reservations too. I don't think Disney is able to make reservations for them anymore, I think you have to call them direct now (someone else confirm please!) Even if you walk by a few hours before you want to eat, check in and put yourself on the list at that time!

Yes if you call disney dining they will tell you that you have to contact the rainforest cafe directly as they do not deal with their reservation system. Also you can definately go and put your name down a few hours before. That definately could work to your advantage as not everyone is going to show up for their reservations.

we made our reservations at a safe time and then showed up a little early. Wasn't a problem..... better than not having reservations at all.

Tried and there was a 3 hour wait..make the ressie's.

Pay $15 join the safari club get priorty seating (an hour wait as a walk in so the guy told me to join the club in the store then come back and show it to him and when I did we were seated right then so less then 5 minutes total) besides getting the priorty seaing you can either get a free appitizer or 10% two meals. Plus you get a $10 certificate in the mail a few weeks after joining and at birthday times. Well worth the $15 join fee.
