Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

paper machea (sp) a little messy but fun... baking soda, red dye and mix it with vinagar for the lava.. :rolleyes1

I'm flashing back to the Brady Bunch and Peter's volcano lol.

You can use an aluminum can or a plastic bottle for the inside. Mold model magic around it and paint. It's not due Monday, is it?

Tuesday. Can you say procrastinate???

I made a papier mache one once, and used red, yellow and orange ribbons "flowing" out of the center for the lava.

You probably don't have time for papier mache at this point. It took me many, many hours to make that one.

Alright I have a unique idea.

Make it a volcanoe such as Mt. St. Helens that blew off its top and spread rocks around areas.

First take a bunch of clay and mold it into the desired form. Then paper mache over that. Cut a whole big enough for a camera film holder. Inside the camera film holder put a "Alkaselzer (sp?)" then put on the cap and pour water. It will explode as rocks would in a real volcanoe.
