My SIL had a garage sale and let DD join. DD, 14, took toys, games and books she was done with playing. Her biggest items were a game boy system with lots of games and accessories for $70. A wooden doll house for $25.
We had cleaned out DS closet, I normally put the clothes into those green and white cloth donation boxes but DD asked if she could sell them, I said sure. We also did the same for her closet. She sold clothes .25 cents and up. Most expensive was $5.00 winter coats.
We took in those chairs little kids can sit in that are like lazy boys. Asked for $2 each, as we walked in with them, the other girl at the garage sale wanted them for her pre school class, I said take them for free.
Our neighbor gave DD a box of stuff to sell and a piece of luggage and told her whatever you get you can have for yourself. Made $14 from that stuff. And she sold 38 "baby sitter books" to another teacher for $10.00.
DS sold all his recue hero people, vehicles, barge ship for $50. He was not interested in participating in the garage sale. I just asked him it he was ready to let it go and then I offered it up at work for sale.
For me, yippee less stuff in the house.
