Never made it to DD. A friend tells me not to miss the Lego store, DS age 6 loves Legos. Anyone been there? Is it worth a trip over to DD? Also, is that where the DQuest is? What is that like?
Lego Store is great and definitely worth a trip to DD; Not only do they have Legos to buy, but outside the store is a HUGE display of Legos; a sea serpent in the lake; dinos; a family, a lion, a man snoring ... it's wonderful. And McDonalds is next door. A combination that any 6 year old will love! Disney Quest is on the West Side; Pleasure Island is between DD and DQ. I would not recommend DQ for a 6 yr old; we have a 10 yr old and went to DQ this spring and would not go again. There were some fun things, but not worth the price compared to the parks.
The lego store is a definate stop every year for my DS, now 6. Just be aware that you can spend alot of time, and money, here! There is an outside play area with tables set up and every kind of lego imaginable to play with. DS has been saving his money for a "big pack of legos".
Went to Disney quest two years ago with a 4 and 6 yr old and there wasn't alot for us to do. The only reason we went was it was included in our package (before finding the DIS) and we thought it would be cool. The games that my kids would have liked were the arcade type games, skee ball and such, but they all required tokens. I wasn't going to spend anymore money! They sometimes after a late evening special discount for DQ if you really want to go.
My DS, age 3, loved playing at the Lego store. He also liked looking in World of Disney, just watching the boats go in and out. There is also a Carousel, train, and fountains to play in. Our night to DD was very enjoyable, definitely worth the trip. Oh, and also check out Rainforest Cafe, even if you don't eat there, just go in and look around, very cool!
Sounds like the Lego store should be on our list. I think we have free admission to DQ with our UPH's but I appreaciate the tip on the additional game costs once inside. DQ will be a maybe on our to do list.
if DQ is included and he likes video games give it a try. The game that cost extra are the ticket games and to purchase items made at one of the interactive stations (dd and I made and purchased a doll).
If DisneyQuest is included in your passes definitely give it a try. I took my 8 year old last June and he had an absolute blast. He wasn't interested in the games that required tokens luckily!
If you decide to try it, do Pirates early. This one gets crowded. There's height restrictions for some things (Pirates too? ) and DS was disappointed not to be able to do the Roller Coaster or bumper cars. The bumper cars were particularly upsetting to him so you might want to be prepared for that!
DisneyQuest looks like alot of fun for preteen to teenagers, but unfortunately was a waste of money for me and my family (kids 2 and 6 years). My son is big into video games too, but he really didn't get his money worth when all he wanted to do was play games that we had to pay extra for! He did like Pirates of the Carribean tho.
