DD donated her hair

DD who is 12 donated her hair to Locks of Love last night. I'm so proud of her. She looks great with her new hair cut, and is gone to donate again when it is long enough. I called Locks of Love yesterday and they now take 6 inches on the web site it still says 10. DD donated 8 inches she still wanted her hair to be shoulders length.

6 inches now? That is awesome. I was trying to grow my hair to 10 inches past my shoulders but it was taking forever. I got to 8 inches and I have kept it there since. Maybe now I will grow it out some more and donate my hair when it gets closer to summertime.

Congrats to your DD! That is SO awesome! My DD also wants to do it, but wants to do it in November at the WDW barber shop! They don't participate with Locks of Love, but I can mail it in myself as long as they cut it in the ponytail (according to the website). I am SO excited that it's 6 inches now! She's probably at 9 inches and could do 10 next month, but her hair would be a little shorter than she'd like. Now she can do 8 or 9 and be thrilled!!

DD did this for her first haircut when she turned 5. Just give the barber a heads up, and they'll wrap it up for you. She ended up donating over 12 inches of beautiful blonde hair.

I donated hair to Locks of Love earlier this year. If you go to their website you will find salons who will not only collect the hair and send it for you, but they will also cut it for free .

That's great of her. I did it myself back in May. My hair used to come down almost to my backside. I took about 12 inches off and it now comes to my shoulders.

DD13 donated hers this summer; the braid was 14 inches long.

My friend's priest grows his hair, specifically to donate to Locks of Love. It really makes a lot of sense for a guy to do this...when they get their hair cut, they can cut all but an inch or two (or even all of it!)

I am thinking about doing this myself. I have been growing my hair out for my upcoming wedding, and can't wait to cut it all off, so I might as well put it to good use!

Very nice!! DD (Stitchfansjr) has donated her hair twice now. Her hair grows real fast. That is such a great place to support.

I am so glad to hear they will now take 6 inches. 10 inches was too hard, DD did one at 8 inches and 2 at 10 inches and she said she really didn't want to do another one at 10 inches. She will be glad to hear they are now doing 6.

DS may now have enough to donate so he will be pleased to hear that too!
