dd 16 lost her purse

it may have been stolen out of the car she as drivers lisc. and ss card panicing here no credit cards etc.. but her id.. now what

We went through the same thing not too long ago with our 16 yr. old DD. Wish I had some really terrific advice for you.
DD had her DL, bank card (checking only, not a CC, thank heavens) and her school ID in hers.
We called and immediately put a hold on her checking acct. and had them change the account #.
I was really surprised at the MVD though. They issued her an exact duplicate of her DL and didn't even change the #. They said it happens all the time and they rarely ever have a problem with it. Great, seems like it could be a real issue!
I think I'd be most concerned about the SS #. I don't know what to tell you about that. Hopefully someone else will know.
I would think that since she's still a minor identity theft would not be as likely. I know that was a big concern for us.

I just went through my moms wallet last week and saw she had her social security card in there...I made her take it out, you are not supposed to be carrying those cards on you...when my daughters came recently it was attached to a card that said to put it in a secure place and not carry it around in your wallet or purse.
Hopefully it was just someone looking for money and they will either stick it in the mail like someone did with my moms or throw it in the trash and someone wont ever find the SS card!
