DCR for six adults?

We have a potentially largeish party of people going to DLP next May. Budget is a consideration on this trip, so no DLH for me unless the syndicate wins the lottery!

I have some questions:

Would a 2 bed cabin at DCR suit six adults?

Do DLP have any issue with single sex groups? (all professional women in our 30s and 40s, but even so...)

How do we get from DCR to the Parks? How far away is it?

Would we do better with a couple of standard rooms at a walkable distance hotel?

TIA
EK

How suitable the DCR is depends on the weight of the people going and how comfortable you are sleeping together.

You essentially get 2 double beds, plus a set of bunk beds suitable for people up to about 70kg (11 stone), totalling 6 people.

In terms of time to the parks, the DCR is about a 10 minute drive to the parks and there is no other way of doing that journey as far as I know.

we don't mind sharing - we've been away together before. My friend Ann and I always share because we both snore! how are the rooms arranged? 4 in one room and 2 in the other?

I think a couple of people are under 11 stone so they would be ok on the bunks.

Hmmm, definitely worth considering, although what we spend in car hire might balance out any potential savings.

is the DCR a cost effective way of doing it for a large party? I still think there might be some mileage in two rooms (eg 2 double beds in each room) at one of the onsite hotels. Do you think there woudl be much in it?

I can't cost it out yet - dates aren't available.

It'll be cozy :grouphug:, but you will all fit.

1 double, 1 double bed setee, and 2 bunks. Strictly speaking though, the bunks are designed for children/lightweights....so they may query that?

The room arrangement depends on what kind of cabin you book:

A single bedroom cabin is 1 double and the bunk beds in one room and a double sofa bed in the lounge.

A two bedroom cabin is 1 double in one room, the bunk beds in the second room and the double sofa bed in the lounge.

If you pick up a copy of the official DLRP brochure from a travel agent, then they have plans of both style of cabin, or I may be able to scan it in for you at some point if that's easier?

thank you for the offer; I could look in the ebrochure couldn't I?! :rolleyes1

I do like the idea of a cabin which would suit us - well, a suite would probably suit us(me) better - but am worried about the car hire bit.

Will have to do lots of research and costings, but at least I now know it is workable, thank you all!

We met some of DP's ex school friends while at DLP who were staying at Sequoia Lodge. The husband took the 2 boys to the Adventure tree top beside DCR. From memory I think they said they were €20 for a taxi from the train station and €30 back. So this would make a trip to DCR without a car an expensive proposition IMHO.

Indeed you probably can - I didn't realise DLP offered an e-brochure :thumbsup2
