DCP Roomates!!! :D

Okay so I haven't started roommate hunting yet because I'm still pending. I'm really trying to minimize my disappointment if I get rejected. So for me that means avoiding the DCP Facebook pages, not looking at DCP pictures, and not immersing myself into DCP awesomeness because doing that builds up hope and excitement. If I were to do all of that, it would hurt that much more to be rejected. That also includes not finding a roommate already only to find out that I will never meet that person because I've been rejected by Disney. So what would happen if I did get accepted but I hadn't searched for a roommate? Would Disney just place me with someone? It's hard to tell because the internet has such an influence on interpersonal relationships these days like so many people turn to youtube and facebook to find their roommates when Disney may have put people together before. I'm just wondering what could happen if I got accepted, but hadn't selected a roommate? Please also share your DCP roommate experience Thanks!

You'll still have plenty of time to find roommates if you get accepted. Especially if you are doing fall. If you end up not finding anybody, then the person in line behind you that is in the same position (Also doesn't have a roommate, as well as being the same age, as in wellness/non-wellness) will end up being assigned your roommate.

oh ok, thank you so much! It seems like pretty much everyone is using FB and Youtube to find their roomates. Is that how the roomate system works?

Don't worry about finding a roommate beforehand, Disney offers a roommate matching system where they randomly match you up with someone that has your arrival date, same gender, and either over/under 21. They give you the person's email so you can talk beforehand, and if you realize you're not a good match, you can easily break it and be assigned to someone else. I haven't had a lot of luck with this system because everyone i've been matched with already has a roommate, they just haven't put in their roommate match codes yet adn ended up randomly assigned to me.

People do use fb a lot to find roommates, but I've seen a lot of stories in blogs where people seem one way over facebook and then they check in and live together and things are totally different.

Also, if you don't do the roommate matching system or find someone on fb, you will be placed with someone at random on check in day. I've heard a surprising number of really amazing stories of roommates who met this way, and they became really good friends.
