I'm fairly new here and would like opinions/help/input about my question: Face Character auditions. I plan on applying for DCP Fall 2014--but I don't want to have Character Performer/Entertainment as one of my top three roles when I have to select my top three. Can I still go to the auditions if I'm accepted into a completely different role? Or is that not allowed?

Anyways, this is moi I'm obviously white, dark blonde and have blue/green eyes (depends on what color clothes I wear). I'm also 5'4"ish and I wear a dress size of 8 or 10 (depends on the brand more than most of the time). Do I have a chance or should I refrain from hoping?

Thank you!

Howdy...5'4" is in the height range for princess face characters. The CP auditions are pretty much fur auditions, and if they feel like you have face potential they will ask you to stay at the end of your audition and take extra pictures. Not a clue about dress sizes though. :) Be aware that all character performer auditions are HIGHLY height based...depending on what they think they will be needing at the time. Preference is given to those 5' and shorter, and 6' and taller. My son is doing CP at WDW this semester, and he and several friends went to an audition for extending to spring. Pretty much anyone taller than 5'1" was cut right away....they were looking for Mouse Height. CP auditions do tend to be more general. My son is 5'10" and at his CP audition last March, he made it to the end. I notice you are in California. Will you be applying for Disneyland or WDW? If Disneyland, they do not offer the character performer role for CP.
Good Luck :)

I will be applying for WDW--if I have enough money saved up by then (as I am currently an unemployed college student). So I'm good on height? Whew! Thank you.

I THINK you're the perfect height for a princess. I have watched some tutorials on people who were former princesses. A couple of things: dance background helps a lot, so take some classes before auditioning. Also, their dress sizes are 4, 6 and 8 so you may want to trim up just a little. They obviously don't want stick thin princesses, but either you fit the dress or you don't. I hope this helped! I'm considering auditioning too.

I can try to find some dance classes, but I think I can learn a good amount by just participating in my local community theater, right? I plan on being apart of a play/musical soon :) 4, 6 and 8 huh? I've read somewhere (on another forum I believe) that they are size 8 and 10  Anywho, I've changed my diet and am going to start walking at least twice a week (since I'm busy with school, don't have much time!). I'm not overweight or anything (I'm athletically built supposedly) but just wanna trim a wee bit off :p

You're thinkin' about auditioning? Awesome! Are you going to do it through DCP or as full time?

I still have a question. Let's say I'm accepted into the college program for Fall 2014 into a role other than Entertainment/Character Performer, such as QSFB. Can I still go to an audition and switch roles?

Yes, you can accept a role for the program, then audition. If selected for Character Performer, they change your role.

I'm thinking about auditioning for DCP! I may just do another field though and hope that I continue working for Disney. That way I'll have my foot in the door and know what to expect.
