Hello everyone, I have applied for the DCP at WDW and am really hoping to be accepted! However I have a few questions. I have several reasons for living off-property and was wondering exactly how I should go about informing Disney. I have heard some places that say you must talk about it in the interview, and the Disney website said something about requesting off property in DORMS-which I guess you fill out post-offer? I just want to make sure I have the correct information.

I also read somewhere that they still take rent out of your paycheck-is this also true? I hope not. Also, if I do get to live off-property do I still pay the $300 program acceptance fee in full? I heard about $200 of that is housing...

I have reliable transportation and it would not be an issue, but I don't want it to negatively affect me to not be accepted. If I don't have to request it during the interview I'd rather not just because I don't want it to be looked at negatively. If any of you have these answers please let me know! Thanks :goodvibes

I don't think it's looked at negatively. I would go ahead and ask my interviewer about it. I remember Disney saying that if you wanted to live off-site, you'd have to prove that you lived close enough.

That makes sense. I hope I don't need proof beforehand because I obviously want to get accepted before signing a lease. I would choose one that is close.

Do you also know about if pay will be deducted for rent anyway even if I am living off property? That is what I am really concerned about..

I'm honestly not sure if they'll still make you pay the starting $200 that they say is for housing. They wouldn't deduct rent for the rest of the program though.

Thanks so much! That is definitely a relief. I will mention it in my interview if you do not think they look at it negatively! Again thanks so much!

You do have to pay the $200 once you get accepted but they will refund that back to you soon after you start working. They do not take anything out of your paycheck for rent. Once you get accepted there is an email address and all u have to do is email them telling them that you are going to live offsite. You do not have to have a place at that time but they will ask you to email them the address as soon as you have a place. I don't believed it is viewed as a negative or a positive. It's really easy so don't stress about it!

Thank you SO SO MUCH! That was very helpful. I am still unsure as to whether I will mention it in the interview-I am graduating so this is like my one shot-but so long as I can do that once I am accepted that's fine. The $200 back would be great but of course I was most stressed about rent getting taken out of my paycheck! Guess you really can't believe everything you read on the internet :rotfl2: Thanks again both of you for all the help and best of luck!!

Hi Everyone!

I have a quick question regarding the $300 deposit for housing in FL. I have apple for both the Fall CP program and a few PI. I unfortunately have not heard anything from the PI, but have a phone interview set up for the CP!:mickeyjum:hmghost::tigger::sulley::donald:. If you can not tell I am EXCITED! :yay:

Anyway, my question is simple...if I get accepted for the CP first and then later find out I was also accepted for an PI, can I choose which one I want? Also, what would happen to the $300 I spent for housing, would it be transferred to PI housing?

Thank You!

When I was a PI, I got into the DCP. When I was offered the pi, they cancelled my cp for me and refunded me the $300. When it hit my bank account, I put the deposit down for the PI housing (which I once again strongly suggest not using)

Thank You SO MUCH! This makes me feel better.:dumbo:

I must ask, is the housing that bad? I would have thought the PI housing would be filled with more 'professional' people, so to say and if your in the under 21 housing for the CP, then you don't need to worry about alcohol if you have good roomies...? Am I being naive?
