DCP Alumni likelihood of being rejected?

Hey all,

I guess this question is mostly for people who have been accepted into multiple college programs. I did my first and only program Fall Advantage last year. I've applied to go back down for Spring Advantage 2013. All of a sudden, I'm very concerned that I won't get back in.

I'm reflecting back on my phone interview (it was last Sunday) and i just don't think it was very good. I'm not usually one to pass the buck, but my interviewer just wasn't good either. Very robotic, I got asked the exact same questions a non-alumni would, and he didn't allow me any time to share anything special about myself. In my first program's interview, there were more questions about my likes and interests so I got to say my favorite park, attraction, etc. There was none of that with this guy. I'm also worried I didn't sound excited enough. I had a professional internship phone interview about 3 weeks ago and that went EXCELLENT. So, I feel like I may have let my guard down and not have prepared for the DCP interview like I should have.

I'm currently a campus rep though, I've done the program before, and my record card was excellent. I'm not saying I deserve immediate acceptance because of that, but I wish it'd mean something in the process.

Thoughts?

Your chances of getting back in a pretty good :)
The only time I've heard of an alum getting rejected is because they were a restricted rehire status. Or a no rehire.

My interviewer was by the book too. She was very professional and didn't give me very much feedback so I was feeling the same way you were. But you being a campus rep AND an alumni will probably give you some advantage :)

Actually, I have to disagree, this last semester, almost every one of my alumni friends got rejected, even the one who never called in once. A few got emails later asking if they would still like to come they could, but they were all originally rejected. This season was really odd.

I bet being a campus rep will work in your favor though. My interview was the same the first time around. I assumed I didn't get it. But I did, obviously, so don't take too much stock in how they sounded. I bet you'll be back in no time :)

Well I got back in! Found out yesterday and I got my number 1 role choice so everything is all good.
