Hi,
My DD is having a dilima....
She'sgetting married on DCL, and she can't deceide where to have it (on board or on the island). It is about a $1000.00 difference between the two. She has seen pictures of the onboard, but not really of Castaway Cay.
Any thoughts? pictures of weddings on the island?
She really wants it to be on the island, only to get the cool photo's, but she's also thinking that if she has it onboard, then she could just wear her dress on the island and get cool photo's herself. She's also thinking they'd want the wedding to be sooner on the cruise, because it might get a little "hectic" being the last day on the cruise(wanting to spend it on CC), and then after the ceremony( if she has it on CC) having to pack and everything.
but is it worth the extra $1000.00 to have it on the island??
...please help...

I'm getting married on the island. If you have more than 20 people they can't do it on Deck 7 of the ship. They can do it at Cadillacs though on the Wonder or the lounge on the Magic too.

I am doing CC b/c we have about 65 guests. It's worth the $1000 extra to us. If weather doesn't permit the wedding on the beach I heard you're refunded that $1000 difference if you have to get married on the ship because of it.

Lisa (Goldeelox9 I think) is getting married in 6 weeks on Castaway Cay. I don't think it's "hectic" to get married the last day of the cruise. It's not like moving out of a house on the last day - you're just relaxing like you have the days before.

I will have to say that I find the hectic part comes throught the picture choosing. We got married on friday but we were not given our pictures until 730pm on Saturday and we had our dinner at 815pm. So, by the time dinner was done, we had an hour to pick our pictures and pack our luggage to have it outside the door. I would have to say, it is a little hectic. But lots of fun!!!

Haha - true. I suppose it comes with a CC wedding though and there's no way around that.

Another simple question to ask yourself is: do you want to get married ON a cruise ship? Or do you want to get married ON the beach?

For us it was the beach!

I am getting married on the Beach at CC....6 Weeks...YAY I will post tons of pics. Also if you do a 4 day cruise the wedding is not the last day, it is the day right in the middle! There are some beach pictures out ther, they are hard to find though. I think paying so much money for a wedding and having inside at a lounge takes away the specialness. I do like the pictures on Deck 7, but like Mikkel said if your party is too big it is not an option. I am a travel agent (on the side) so I was able to book everyone who is traveling with us's trip. Having the control and being "on the inside" has helped me alot. There is still so much unknown about the Disney Cruise Weddings. When i started planning I couldn't even find any felow cruise brides on here...so getting info is getting easier. Please let us all know what you pick!

And we cant' wait to see your pics Lisa!!

Our wedding is the magic, 7 day western. I've done the 7 day western and eastern before, but I personally like the western better because of the 4 stops...My aunt is also my travel agent, so I also get all the inside scoops that she gets(awsome:))...and she's coming so she'll be there too.:) I think now though, trying to get our budget all organized.. it might be the on board deck 7.. If we have to many people though, then it will be CC. I don't want to really get married in a "lounge", if I was going to do that, then i'd just stay home and get married in a church..lol..(my personal opinion)...
My opinion might change though, once I see your photos..lol.
(P.S. how many guest's including bridesmaids and groomans are allowed at the deck 7 wedding?) but not including bride and groom.

I married on CC and our pictures on the island are totally awesome. They were way better than the pictures taken on the ship. I have to agree that the most hectic part is the picture choosing too - choosing which to keep, which to enlarge to 8x10's, how many copies to be made, etc. We also got our pictures late and had very little time to go through all the awesome pictures. My husband and I had to go down to deck two library and hide to go through all the pictures. It was very stressful. There was no way we were able to get the luggage out the door after dinner. I believe we didn't get the luggage out the door until 2:00am (with concierge approval, of course).

You can have 20 guests on Deck 7, including the bride and groom (if memory serves me...) but not including the captain (if that's who is marrying you).

Yes, DCL does offer photo packages. Lisa's the expert on posting the price list for that.

I am getting married onboard the Wonder. I would love to have come pictures of us on the island too. Is there any problem with us wearing our wedding attire and taking photos ourselves?

I might feel a little akward though.:rolleyes1
