I'm confused ~ why would you book with DCL and then transfer to a travel agency? Why not just book with the cheapest place in the first place?

If there is an advantage to doing this ~ what is the procedure?

jeeper, I book with DCL directly and then I transfer the ressie to Dana at www.micdan.com because once I get my price from DCL, she, as a TA, can them call them for even greater savings. She has saved me a lot of money.

I still don't understand. How does your TA get you a cheaper price once you've already booked with DCL and transferred the reservation? Why wouldn't you book with your TA to begin with to get the savings? Doesn't make sense...

I could book with her first if I wanted to, but I like to know my savings after the fact. To be honest, I've nvere really understood how or why DCL lowers the price for TAs but they do, and for that I am greatful! LOL That is more money I can soend on ME:Pinkbounc

Anyone have any info on this if you rebook on the ship....Can you still transfer to a TA and get a better price? Do they still honor the shipboard credits (and other perks if any) you got?

We transfered our res saved some money and got to keep our onboard credit. Just make sure to tell the agent you have onboard credit .

DCL does not lower the price for TA's....the TA's give up part of their commission to get you a better price.

I took everyones advice and booked a 7 night western for October 2006 for the 6 of us with DCL!

Next, I am going to contact Dana and a few others to see if I can get a better deal on the price.

Thanks for the advice ~~ I'll leave you know how it works out!
