Eric

We'll be going on the RCCL Mariner of the Seas in June 2005. We have done both Eastern and Western on the Magic and going to try out the Voyager class ship. Look for our report when we get back.

i've done rccl twice and dcl's magic once. i must say that although rccl's dinner menu is far more superior in terms of "fine dining" and rccl's onboard merchandise is larger in selection, i prefer dcl overall.

We have done the Magic three times and the Voyager-class ships four times (Explorer, Navigator, Mariner, Voyager). I have a comparison of the two lines on my web site. E-mail me for the link.

Both are very good .. all depends on what features you like. The older the young ones , the more the scale tilts towrds RCC, IMHO.

I've done the Wonder twice and booked the Magic for 8/19/04. Doing VOS 12/18/04. Will let you know what we think of VOS. I love Disney everything. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

it might depend on the ages of your family members ... we recently ran into two families that just got off RCCL as we were about to board DCL (we met at the Budge office in Port Canaveral) ... both families hated RCCL compared to DCL, but both families had small children (toddler to pre-10 I'd guess) so their dislike of RCCL might have had to do with children's activities, etc. Unfortunately everyone was in a hurry so I wasn't able to get a detail explanation from them.....

wow thanks for all the great replies. my parents are both around 40. both my brother and sister will be 12 (almost 13) when cruising and ill be 16. going to read some of those links you sent to me
Thanks
Eric

We did cruise the 7 Night Western Caribbean on Voyager of the Seas back in 2002. My kids were 14 and 4. We all loved it. A fabulous ship and fun times. I prefer the Disney shows in the main theater to those at the Voyager but that's just me. Voyager had a Cirque Du Soliel type show that was pretty good but the ice show rocked the house! There was also a rock concert. The Nelsons. One of the highlights. There were 2 really cool parades onboard. Those were lots of fun. Teenagers are going to have a better time on the Voyager in my opinion although my DD did not care for the teen club. Johnny Rockets is fun and it's just a really, really cool ship. Either way, you'll have a riot!

the travel channel will air "world's best cruise" this thursday, dec. 16th 4:00 pm (ET)....this program might offer some insight too.
