Does your whole party need to be present to get on the bus? My family is staying at Hyatt the night before the cruise. I have to fly in the day of the cruise because of work obligations. Can my family get on the bus and go to the port without me? I don't want them to have to wait around the airport when they can start having fun on the boat.

You may have to give DCL a call about this. When we take the DCL transfers from MCO, we have to show our cruise booklet to get on the bus. If your party only has one cruise booklet, I'm not sure how someone not with the group that has the booklet would get on the bus. Unless they can give you a separate voucher.

I think your real question is can you split up to check in to the actual cruise and i think the answer is no. I believe you all have to checkin and board together. Someone with more experience will chime in soon! If you can't, then they will just be waiting on you at the port instead of at the airport. There's a lot more to do at the airport if they are going to wait. Update us when you find out for sure.

Ok, that is interesting because we were told they did. It didn't impact us but they did make special mention of it in the checkin process.
Sorry to mislead!

Well, unless it's changed, you didn't used to have to check in all together.

I would think there must be a way to do this -- essentially arriving separately -- because you pay for DCL transfers per person and not per reservation/stateroom. So while most of us show our cruise booklet as proof of having paid for the transfers, you might need to have a separate copy of that page. Also, it wouldn't hurt when your family checks in first, they should be sure to mention that one member is arriving later and you will take the bus at that time. They must have a way to show that 4 transfers were paid, 3 have checked-in and boarded a bus, 1 more still to check-in and ride. Give DCL a call, but also I'd just make sure that both you and the rest of the party have copies of everything and mention someone is traveling separately.

Enjoy your cruise!
