Hi,

Can someone tell me the latest time that we can arrive at MCO and still get the DCL transfer? We are thinking about taking the 11/28 eastern carribean cruise that leaves port at 4pm. I am not looking to cut it close but DH has to work till 7:30am that morning. Also what time do we schedue a return flight Thank you so much for any information.

Thank you,
Susan:D

I think the last bus is around 1:30 but your best bet is to call DCL. to confirm. Your best option might be to schedule a town car to take you to the port to give you a little more "wiggle room".

If it were me, I'd be campaigning for DH to trade shifts with someone or find someone who could work for him so you don't have to cut it that close.

Don't know where you're coming from but bad weather or other flight delays could make you miss your cruise.

Hi CM Mom,

Thanks for the reply. I will call DCL and ask them. You are so right about trying to give ourselves extra time, if it was up to me we would fly in the day before. DH is trying to switch but unfortunately his job is very inflexible about getting days off. Don't get me wrong he loves his job but this is the worse part of it. Thanks again for the info.

I would also go for FL Tours (board sponsor and GREAT service) rather than the DCL transfer. If you are delayed getting in, your driver will be waiting. I don't know from where you are flying, but you need to be onboard by about 3, they usually don't board later than that, the crew has a few things to do before the ship can get underway.

We haven't done the transfers for the past several cruises...but DCL used to ask that you plan to arrive at MCO by noon and not book a flight out till after noon. That way, they had some flexibility in the event of late flights, lost luggage, or whatever.

Remember that if you book air thru DCL and are delayed (slightly), they will hold the ship for you. If you book your own air and transfer, YOU are responsible for being on board on time.

The ship doesn't actually sail till 5, but the safety drill is at 4 so everyone is supposed to be on board by then. Bottom line, I'd call DCL and find out what the latest time you can get into MCO is....
