We have never done this. To take the dcl buses from the airport directly to the port do you have to pay ahead of time? Can you just show up and get on a bus? Do the buses make other stops first or just go directly to the port? Are there always dcl buses waiting like the magical express to wdw?

The DCL transfer desk is located in the same place the Magic Express desk is. Once the DCL transfer desk opens (9:00) there are buses there to be loaded. Buses depart when full, or every 20 minutes, whichever is first. So, you could wait a little before departure, or leave as soon as you board.

You can add DCL transfers to your DCL reservation by calling DCL and doing so. Or you can purchase them at the desk, if there is availability(never seen non-availability). In my opinion, it's best to purchase ahead of time. Cost is $35.00 per person.

The bus goes from MCO directly to the port, and takes about an hour.

We booked the DCL ground transfer a couple weeks ago the cost per person round trip is $70. This is our third time using the DCL ground transfer. We always book our in advance. I never knew you could purchase them at a desk. Don't quote me on this, but I believe the lady at DCL said we could add the ground transfer and hotel like up to it was either 2 days or 2 weeks prior to sailing. You could always call them and ask them. We decided to go ahead and add them now so I could just pay for everything and be done with it. The buses that take you over are very clean and they play you little videos on the way over. Yes, if you have several people going it can be costly but we decided to go this way so we didn't have to worry about renting a car or worrying about some company picking us up. If anyone in your group is 2 or younger, they are free.

Does anyone know if you have to pay for an infant (will be 11 months at the time of the cruise) since they will be sitting on a lap and not actually taking up a seat?

Nope. We traveled with two 2.9 year olds and a 6 month old in January. Didn't have to pay for any of them.
