So last night DH gave his okay for us to take an Alaskan cruise for our 20th anniversary (August 2012). Can anyone give me some info about Disney cruising--how far ahead can we book, where to find reliable info , etc. We have never been on a cruise so I need to learn everything :)

Thanks, Cheryl

I told you I was a fount of useless information ;)

We booked ours in June of 2009 (for 18 days from tomorrow!). But, I believe the 2012 rates come out next week (for those who have some crazy high number of cruises under their belt and it's staggered for those with fewer, then they get released to the general public). I'm hoping to get a "deal" on board and book for Thanksgiving of 2012.

I'm DYING to go on an Alaskan cruise, but DH will not hear of it. I've already roped a friend into agreeing to go with me on my 50th (we have 10 years to save).

Dreams Unlimited has good info. You may be able to get a quote based on past prices and increases, to give you an idea of cost.

Thanks Jennifer :) I wasn't sure where to start. I'm soooo excited :banana:

You will love AK cruising....we went in June 08 but on Royal Caribbean...I would book it later in the summer though if you can afford it, was pretty chilly and only was able to enjoy being on the deck the last day.

we went out of Vancover BC, Icy Straight Point (not worth stopping at IMO) juneau, skagway and the glaciers. my mom booked it through a Cruise Specialist TA.

Glad you had fun! and glad to hear some good things about another cruiseline. We're thinking later in the summer, but, I have a ton of research to do :) Thanks for thr info.

You can go to Cruise Critic and ask all sorts of questions about Alaska. I have never been on a Disney cruise but have been to Alaska about 10 times. There should be listings for Disney. I believe they do round trip from Vancouver BC and it should be the usual ports of Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway. We're already booked for our 40th next Sept.

Eileen
