I have extra DCL posters...not the ones described but DCL. If you are interested, PM or email me your address and a link to your party so I can verify you are a host (sorry I have a limited amount). I'll send them out until I run out.

I still have 2 sets that I can UPS today or Monday if anyone is in need

along the lines of dirt cups...

My friend made blue jello with gummy fish added to them in small clear dishes/cups for her son's birthday. They were adorable and the kids loved them.

I was going to do that too! We all love the dirt and said - and serve it from the sand pail w/the shovel as well!

Wonder when the packages will be here?!?!??!?

Laurie

I also really like this one (but still need to crop the top of dsthen8's head out)

I like this one - the one w/the palm trees is awesome - but, the one w/the ship all by itself is really nice - Maybe you can get two smaller cakes and use both! LOL

Has anyone else reviewed the Trivia Questions on the downloadable party favors? The last question asks "Which of these onboard areas is just for kids ages 8-12? a. Disney's Oceaneer Lab, b. Disney's Oceaneer Club, c. The Stack, d. Aloft

And at the bottom of the page is says the answer to question 8 is B.

NO! It's not the CLUB, it's the LAB!!! I think I'll send a note to the House Party folks and let them know this needs to be corrected! We certainly don't want to be giving out false information on DCL!!!!! :scared:

I live in northwest Florida and haven't received my package yet, so maybe they are coming from up north somewhere. Will post as soon as it's received.

I've been checking almost every day for any party favors. When did they post the new ones? Printing them out as we speak.

You keep those DCL people straight now, ya hear? ;)

I'm telling you House Party will never do another event for Disney because of us. :lmao: We are all on the ball when it comes to every move they make and we have so many questions!? I bet they don't get half the e-mails and inquiries for the other parties they put on.

I LOVE IT!

I agree....if they wanted uninformed people to do there parties than they should have left us addicts and Castaway members out of it. Who do they think there dealing with anyway :lmao:

I am so bummed about my TV. They have not been able to fix it at my house so they are going to take this heavy 58" Plasma into the shop :confused3 to see if they can fix it...

I was hoping to have it for all my videos for Saturday. They will give us a loan of a 42" but not the same. They said if it cant not be fixed than a new one will take 2-3 weeks to be delivered :headache: :sad1: :scared:

OK, here are the rum cake and Crab Delight recipes:

RUM CAKE

Vegetable oil spray
flour for dusting the pan
1 c. finely chopped pecans or walnuts
1 package (18.25 ounces) plain yellow cake mix
1 package (3.4 ounces) vanilla instant pudding mix
1/2 cup Bacardi dark rum
1/2 cup vegetable oil (canola, corn, safflower, soybean, or sunflower)
1/2 cup water
4 large eggs

GLAZE

4 Tbs. (1/2 stick) butter
2 Tbs. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. Bacardi dark rum

Place rack in center of oven and preheat to 325 degrees. Lightly mist 12-cup Bundt pan with veg. oil spray, then dust with flour. Shake out excess flour; sprinkle nuts in bottom of pan.

Place cake mix, pudding mix, rum, oil, water, and eggs in large mixing bowl. Blend with electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Scrape down sides, increase mixer speed to medium and beat 2 minutes more until batter is thick and smooth, scraping sides again if needed. Pour batter into prepared pan, smooth with rubber spatula. Bake until cake is golden brown and springs back when lightly pressed, 58 to 60 minutes. Remove pan from oven and place on wire rack to cool for 20 minute. Run a long, sharp knife around edge of cake and invert onto serving platter. Poke holes in cake with wooden skewer or toothpick.

Prepare the glaze: Place butter in small saucepan and melt over low heat, 2 to 3 minutes. Add water and sugar, stirring. Increase heat to medium and bring mixture to boil. Reduce heat slightly and simmer until thickened, 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in rum. Pour glaze over warm cake. Allow cake to cool completely before serving.

Store covered in foil or plastic wrap at room temperature for up to 4 days, or in refrigerator for 1 week, or wrap in foil and freeze for up to 6 months. Thaw frozen cake overnight on counter before serving.

ORANGE RUM CAKE VARIATION

Use previous recipe, but delete 1/2 c. oil and 1/2 cup rum and instead use: 1 cup fresh orange juice, 8 Tbsp. butter, melted, 1/4 cup dark rum, and 1 Tbsp. grated orange zest. For glaze, use 4 Tbsp. butter, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/4 c. dark rum, and 1/4 c. orange juice.

CRAB DELIGHTS

1- 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
1/2 c. mayonnaise
4-6 green onions, white and green part thinly sliced
1 can crab meat*
tabasco sauce to taste
1 pkg. English muffins, split

Mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, and green onion; fold in crabmeat and add tabasco sauce to taste. Spread on English muffin halves. Cut each half into quarters. If serving immediately, bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. OR -- place quarters on cookie sheet and freeze until firm. Store quarters in freezer in Ziploc freezer bag. When ready to serve, bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes until hot and lightly browned.

*Use one small can or more. It's good either way. Can use reduced-fat cream cheese and mayo if desired. :)

I know these are kind of retro, but everyone  them!

We noticed that right away too! I was thinking of showing a DCL dvd we have and "quizzing" people to see how well they listened for one of the prizes. Some of our guests have cruised DCL before, but I'm not sure if they'll know the answers to some since they do not have young children and may not know about the lab and Mickey pool. Then again one couple has been on 14 DCL cruises so chances are they really know.

Did everyone get the disneysurvey to email to 5 guests? My friend did it over the phone when we were talking and it only took a couple of minutes. Basically it asked about what they were looking forward to the most, if they had cruised before and what they weren't looking foward to. We were kidding around and she said she was going to put OBC for the most forward (she knows they aren't doing any now for guests) I guess Peter Pan masks didn't appeal to her!

I did think about doing this one since there would be plenty of room to add my little plastic DCL characters we bought at Mickey's Mates a few years ago.
Maybe we will have to do 2!

Well I have been thinking of what to make and I kept coming up wit the same old same old soooooo I decided to do this so far.

Chocolate Fondue with- Apples, oranges,,strawberries, Melon's graham Crackers, pretzels, marshmallows ,pineapples and Rice crispy mickey ears.

Cheeses fondue- Breads, pigs in a blanket, sliced ham, seared cubed Fillet, Cherry tomatoes, broccoli, grapes, apples,

Rum cake recipe, Shrimp coctail with coctail sauce and cucumber salsa, Crab dip recipe, Chilled orange mango soup, 2 other kinds of dips, something with bacon?(any ideas)....\\will add more but that is what I have so far. Decided instead of the choc. fountain to do the fondue. Wanted to make something that most people don't make all the time.

Will also have popcorn on the tables in my cool popcorn ceramic dishes to pick at.

Beverages are...3 kinds of Martinis for martini tasting, K. coolers, wine, soda and water. Will add another cocktail but still deciding on that.
