My dear friends,

I have booked a DCL cruise using my points (which, I'm told, I should probably never do again). Do they still put the "Welcome Home" magnet on my stateroom door?

Luv 'n' Stuff,

Thanks so much for giving me this information.
I booked two connecting aft balcony cabins using my points and would LOVE a magnet. It is good to know I can also ask for one since the other cabin booked is for my mother, and she is the one that purchased the points for my family (they are in my name and she also pays the maintanence), so I would either give her my magnet and/or get two.
Thanks!

Luv 'n' Stuff,

Actually, the points vs. cash differential has changed dramatically in the last couple years. So, using points is not a bad usage at all.

Now, about the magnet... I'm not sure what you mean. On our last/first cruise we put our own magnet on the door. Just bought 8x11 sheets from Staples and printed our favorite photo from the VB resort onto it with our inkjet printer and also added our last name to it. Many people did the same.

Edit: after reading the other posts I do see what you're talking about, but you might still want to do your own magnet too.

Yes. If you are a DVC member, regardless if your cruise was booked on points or cash, you will have a "dvc member" magnet put on your stateroom door.

We're scheduled to go on our maiden DCL voyage in April and it will be nice to be "Welcomed Home"

If you are not booking with points do you have to let them know ahead of time that you are DVC or does their computer system auto recognize you?

We stop at the DVC desk right in the port, just to say Hi, and we're on board! The first cruise, our magnets didn't get onto our door until the second day, but our last cruise the magnets were on the door when we went to our stateroom.
