Have any of you DCL lovers ever sailed on the Princess "Golden Princess" or the RCCL "Adventure of the Seas"? We're thinking about taking a southern Caribbean cruise, and these are the two options out of San Juan. :) Thanks! ;)

We cruised the Star Princess this summer - a sister ship (same ship - different name) to Alaska. Our 11 year old enjoyed the children's program just as much as she did the DCL program. Wonderful ship, entertainment and food.

We sailed the Adventurer of the Sea on its maiden voyage. It was O.K. The ship was beautiful, it had an ice skating rink and a rock climbing wall. The service and the food was not as good as the Celebrity line but I have to give it some slack being that it was their maiden voyage. That was 2 years ago so I'm sure they have ironed out all of the kinks. My parents swear by Princess. They have sailed with them several times and loved it every time. If I had to pick between the 2, I would say go with the Princess. Hope this helps.

You may want to check on the cruisecritic boards regarding these 2. I was recently reading a rather negative review of AOS. I like to read the stuff on cruisecritic, but I am a little intimated to post--the people over there aren't as nice as here. Also, you may want to wait to post since the people are all riled up about charging a fee for Johnny Rockets.

We have taken two DSL cruises, but this February we took our first Golden Princess cruise, (no child). Both ships are beautiful. The Golden Princess had better food, lower drink prices (marquaritas 3.50, and the all you can drink soda at 22.50). The entertainment on Disney was much better. Our veranda was bigger, Caribe deck 9X9. Average age on Princess was 63 and 20 children under the age of 18. On our Disney cruises we have sailed with almost 900 children, but they never were a problem.
The Princess ship stayed up later at night, never went to bed before 12:30, but then again no child with us this time. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary.

There is a picture of me hanging our Castaway Towel on our veranda on the Golden Princess. It was taken in St. Martin when the Disney Magic and the Golden Princess were docked side by side. If you go to DCL trip report forum and look for the pictures from the 2/7 cruise taken my mmouse37, i think. There you can see the veranda. It had a table and two chairs and two larger chairs that reclined. We ended up spending more time sunning on the veranda than we did by the pool.

My wife and I will cruise again on the Golden Princess, but our next cruise will be back on Disney in January. Have to escape these Minnesota winters.
