In about a year, our group (family, friends and neighbors) are planning on doing the 7 day. As of now, we will need about 15 staterooms, but that number could grow as the months pass. We have not made any reservations yet, but plan to very soon. Does DCL offer any sort of discount for groups this size? Would I be better off booking this with a travel agent or directly with DCL. We are obviously looking for the best deal available, if there are any. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think that if you have 8 cabins you get some perks from Disney-small reception etc. I'd contact a TA to see about a discount for that many cabins. I don't think Disney offers a discount.

Yeap! 8 or more rooms gets a discount or the person who books the trip goes for free. I would shop around on this trip get quotes from Costco, BJ's, Dreams Unlimited and I know there are few other TA's that have great rates. Plus, you get Early Booking Saving if your book this early. So starting shopping for those quotes ASAP....
BTW- Disney does offer Family Reunion package there is a charge for it though.

We have 11 cabins booked for our upcoming November cruise. We booked through a TA (CruiseOne rep) because he gave us the best quote at the time. We got one free FARE, not a free room. What that means basically is that my fare was waived, but my husband and children still have to pay. This is for every 8 rooms booked, so it sounds like you might be close to getting two fares waived. Good luck and have fun!

We did this through a travel agent and got a great price! When we filled more then 8 cabins they gave every cabin $100 off. This makes it even as everyone enjoys a little extra savings. Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with the extra hundred bucks! :p ;)

Nickymouse,

DCL's groups work like this..... For every 8 staterooms with double occupancy, you would get 1 fare free .. one person, cruise only, not port charges or taxes. The value of that depends on the categories booked. If you fill 16 staterooms with at least double occupancy, you would get two free fares. There can be blacked out dates for the most popular weeks.

In addition, DCL usually offers additional $$ off of each stateroom, depending on the date. Typically it's $50 or $100 per stateroom.

Key point ::: Finalize the date as soon as you can. Certain time period for 2004 already have no more group allocations available. For instance, we have tried to get space next July and it is currently not available. We do have space for 6/26/04, and that was reserved 6 months ago, along with other dates in '04.

If you can find someone who reserved the space well in advance, the prices will be even lower than if you reserved the space today. DCL does reward those who book early..

Also, deposit requirements can be different thatn individual reservations.. Make sure you know the deal...

Good Luck
