We hadn't planned to do PA on this trip, but DD (6) had been learning about it in school and had expressed interest. Has anyone done either of these with DCL?

Easy Pisa: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/port-adventures/livorno-italy-easy-pisa/

or

Pisa and Arno River: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/port-adventures/livorno-italy-pisa-and-arno-river/

Both look like a lot of travel time for something I've already seen, but I also want to encourage my daughter's curiosity.

Do it for your daughter.

I have been there a few times but every time, combined with Florence on a private tour and not with DCL for full flexibility.

For you the Easy Pisa on your two quoted adventures looks the best.

Have you looked at LV20, to climb the tower, that would be the best imho.

Of all Florence is the long run, Pisa is quite close to port.

This guide may help.

Several years ago we visited Pisa on a DCL excursion that included Florence. We loved Florence, but Pisa...not so much. Pisa was loaded with vendors and tourists, the latter all trying for cheesy photo ops with friends trying to prop the tower up. There is a chapel next door that we got tickets to see, which was average nice. The ticket included climbing the tower, but we did not have time to do it. All this said, if your daughter truly has an interest in this site, it is the only one and this will give her a memory for a lifetime. When she is an adult it will be, as most popular tourist sites around the world are fast becoming, more overrun than today...your choice!!

How hard is the climb? She will have just turned 6.
It's not to bad children will love it, they control it, one lot going up, then one going down in time slots. The only issue is the top, it's marble and of course there is a slope, safe but you can feel exposed.

The steps are good.

I'm doing it for my daughter. I have always wanted to go to Florence, but I know she's not ready for that yet, but she really wants to climb the tower, so we will. We are hoping to do it on our own taking www.tuscanybus.com/en/ and purchasing our own tickets. I have the DCL one booked just in case we can't get tickets on our own, but the DCL one is extremely expensive.

From what I have read in the Rick Steves book and on other message boards, ALL cruise ships have a shuttle to Livorno town center. Some are free and some cost $5. Not sure which category DCL falls into.
