Our April cruise was just cancelled the other day. We opted for the 125% cruise credit. We have already rebooked and looking at the invoice our 25% bonus came to $602.76. Our voyage fare for our cruise that was just cancelled was $1206 each for the 1st two passengers, $612 for #3 & $587.52 for the fourth passenger. Our total fare not including taxes & fees was $3,611.52. 25% of that comes to $902.88. Did I miscalculate something or did DCL make a mistake?

Did you use a placeholder on the cruise that was cancelled? My understanding is that the 125% of the price that you paid after any discounts. So if the room was originally $2000 per person and you used a placeholder with the 10% discount that took it down to $1800 per person, then the credit would be based off $3600 and not $4000 (if 2 people). They also told me that they figure out on each person's rate and not the total.

But I do agree that it is very confusing with how they are doing it.

If you divide the $602.76 by .25 you get a base price of 2411.04. To me it looks like they only applied the 25% extra to the first two passenger fares. Maybe another adjustment(s) is coming for passengers 3&4?

We did use a place holder to book the cancelled cruise, but the prices I listed were after the discount.

That's a good catch monkeydawn. I think you solved the mystery, I don't think another adjustment is coming I think they just forgot to apply passengers 3 & 4.

Are passengers 3 and 4 the same as for the original cruise (I assume so, but just checking)? The credits are per passenger, so the credit for those two would only apply if they were on the new booking.

Yes, passengers 3 & 4 are on both bookings. I had my travel agent call yesterday & when she moved us to the new sailing they failed to tell her that the taxes & fees($300.12) from the original booking were not transferred to the new booking. They also told her it could take 30-60 days for us to receive it.
