Great points! Perhaps this woman has been ill. The hospital has been feeding her "gruel" (it's really runny grits, but she's ill...so after two hundred episodes of Little House on the Prairie, she's thinking it's gruel). Now fast forward...the pain medication is kicking in, and Nick at Night is showing five hours of "The Best of Love Boat" ... she wakes up as "According to Jim" is going off the air...so in her crazed, medicated state, she has jumbled up gruel/pursors/and a Disney ship...

Oh, and the donuts.... the orderly who gave her a sponge bath smelled like Krispy Kreme donuts.

That's the best I can do.

You can never make everyone happy....even Disney can't make everyone happy! That is just life. People like that don't have a happy life and don't appreciate things as others do. They think they have everything comming to them and that they are better than others. you ahve to sort of feel sorry for them. Too bad that she was not able to enjoy her family vacation! In the long run you are to remember the great times you had as a family and not the food service. Pretty sad...

Like most everything, I can see the possibly of a grain of genuineness in this person's post, but the complaints themselves are ridiculous. I do remember seeing one cabin steward in particular who appeared to be much bigger than the other stewards. But he was not fat or a giant, but just much larger than the very "petite" other cabin stewards. If I was guessing, he was probably 6" 2" and maybe 220 or 230 pounds. So, such a cabin steward could concievably exist (though I really doubt the actual accusation itself). Second, if someone was in a complaining mood, seeing the donuts come out of a Krispy Kreme box might be dismaying, but for most people I think it would be pretty exciting and reinforcing of the quality experience Disney tries to provide. Some people are just not happy unless they are complaining.

I'm complaining! I'm a Dunkin Donuts fan through and through, and can't understand WHY people like Krispy Kremes!! *grin* Once a DD lover, ALWAYS a DD lover I guess...so watching a donut box come out that does not have the signature pink and orange letters wouldn't help the quality of MY cruise. *sob whine pout*

You realize that with all the talk on this thread, I HAD to go back and search on "orgy" to find out what story you guys were referring to... It takes all kinds, doesn't it!! Wouldn't you love to know if these people actually got any response to these claims?

Not only will we be cruise mates, we're neighbors AND I'm a hugh DD fan too! Can't stand those Krispy Cremes, just way too sweet for me. Now if I could get DD coffee on board I would be in heaven!

EXACTLY! Not that I didnt' eat them, but after waiting literally YEARS to try one of these "confections from heaven" as some of my southern friends had me believing, I was severely disappointed...dont' get me wrong, they're good, but they're just not DD... *grin*

I wish I were cruising with you, unless you're volunteering to let me take the place of someone from your family? Suggestion - get one of those "push pot" coffee makers and a bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee, and you'll be the envy of the cruise!

As a former Northerner- don't miss the snow but, would love to have a Bavarian Creme and a dd coffee about now - that's always on the must have food list during return visits.

We're on the 3/13 magic If anyone from up north is willing to bring the dunkin' donuts coffee-I'll convince the hubby to bring his coffee press! He's trying to figure out how to pack the expresso machine - so this might be a good compromise

Now, anyone from waaaayy up north willing to bring Tim Hortons? That's another addiction left over from a temporary assignment in Alberta.

Yes - DCL has a purser. Before they went to the new bingo system, the purser was always at the Bingo sessions to hand out the cash prizes. (Now, you get a receipt and go to guest services). Of course, you would want to complain to the Hotel Manager for state room issues ... your Guest Services bill, to the purser. Maybe she did go to the purser because she wanted a refund!
